Yeah, since if we move down a level we find scam books.

Got to agree with these and Betfair.

"Offshore" books like Greek/WSEX etc are solid books, but if something went terribly wrong in Jamaica, I doubt you could count on the government there to help at all.

Aussie books are as solid as a book can be.

Canbet and Centrebet are safer than Greek, Pinny CRIS and the rest of the offshore books. I trust the Australian government and the regulations they have in place far more than say Jamaica or Antigua.

I'm not too worried though, I'm sure my balance at the Greek is safe.

Totally agree, the UK and Aussie regulation is second-to-none and the payout speed is astounding sometimes, I've had many payments back to my UK bank acount that have taken less than 24 hours.

None. My world has been shaken when even the reliable Bodog can't pay after 2 months.

Just a matter of time before I return to Vegas.

My guess is they don't cater to the american market anymore.
So wether they are safe or not. It doesn't apply to us anymore.

If pinny pulled from the US there must be a good reason for it...

Pinny pulled from the US because they envisage a time when internet gambling will be legal and they don't want to risk anything that could hurt their part in that given the US governments draconian and bully-boy tactics.

They pulled from the US because their owners like to be able to come home and not go to jail.

They also did because they could -- ie they were sharp enough and with a solid enough business model to grow without the US (not that they aren't getting a lot of action from US based professionals, because they clearly are).

I agree. When I said draconian I meant things like freedom of movement.

US govt must've gave Pinny an offer they couldn't refuse considering they lost 60% of their customers when they pulled out.

If it becomes legal in the US, then people here will play with the new American books. Would be safer. I dont think they will make it legal and not open them in Nevada, for internet wagering.

This doesnt matter though. Most of those 5.7 billion people don't have access to the internet and/or are not internet gamblers thus are not included in the market count.

The USA alone represents 50% of the internet gambling market even despite the governments efforts to make it seem illegal. That is why internet gambling will always be available to americans. We are half the worldwide market and thats too big a slice of the pie to pass up.

Now if more of the 5.7 billion other people start gambling on the internet then the American percentage will be reduced and we can start worrying then. But I think it will be legal here in the next 5 years anyway

Yes I have durito and places like Africa, the middle east, India, and China either dont have the standard of living required to have internet access or their governments block internet gambling sites.
