I was real tight with this chick -- she was basically the female version of me -- then one of my best friends got hung up on her and she tried to seduce him (though she had a boyfriend already who lived far away). I got pissed off and wrote her the nastiest email I've ever written someone I cared about -- I basically called her an alcoholic slut. This all happened about a year ago -- I haven't talked to her since -- but NOW I really miss her and regret stepping in on her private life (and my other friend's private life). Should I attempt to make amends? I'm starting to think that perhaps I was just jealous -- envy is a powerful, destructive force. It's not like I want to get with this chick -- I have my own girlfriend and am not the cheating type -- but man do I miss her. What would other degenerate gamblers do in this situation? (Why do I feel like this is a Dear Abby letter?) Should I roll teh dice and apologize, risking being drawn into annoying drama? Something tells me "yes."

Thanks fellas for the advice (especially about tag teaming or jizzing on the eyeballs) -- but the real question is... how can I get her into gambling? Should I secretly sign her up at Bookmaker and send her the login details on a note attached to a flower? Maybe put $50 in there and tell her "It was only you -- it's always been you!" I'm convinced that if she started seeing some of the locks you boys post she'd definitely enjoy any "locks" I can give her.

I agree with John, for the most part. I think the Bookmaker account is a really bad idea. I don't know to what extent you should apologize, however. Perhaps she deserved the things you said. Maybe a simple "What's up? We cool?" might be in order and go from there. I learned long ago not to apologize to girls for things you felt. It will only either allow you to get walked on by that girl or cause you to keep emotions pent up in the future, both leading to further conflict down the road. My two cents...

I think you should apologize for what you said, not how you felt. Explain it to her. Tell her you know it was wrong to talk to her that way, but you can't help how you felt. See what happens. You have nothing to lose. If nothing else, you'll feel better knowing you tried.
