Lesser events? Then why mention Roddick.... when he lost to him in an exhibition???? It doesn't even count towards their ATP record.

He lost to a guy who was coming off a long suspension for steroids in Canas. Back to back in the ATP Masters tourneys. The funny thing is, he beat Canas convincingly in their last meeting in 2007 and this season, even though he's "sick."

He lost to a very good player in Fish. A former world #17, who was far better in shape and ranking than Canas, when he lost to him the previous season in the same tournament.

No player ever goes undefeated in a season, no matter how good they are. It's a long season and they will lose to players you'd least expect. Just like Nadal losing to Tsonga, Ferrero, Davydenko, Youhzny and Seppi. None of them are in his class.

If you really believe he has mono, why would you continue to back him? Mono isn't like the flu that goes away after a week. It stays with you for LIFE. If he really has it, he will have the same outbreaks again soon and for years to come. So you should be fading him, not backing him.

The Roddick match was at the Miami masters.

Yes, nobody goes undefeated, that's not remotely what I'm saying. Point is, he was playing horribly, esp against Fish, Murray and Tipsarevic, at the same time he was diagnosed with glandular fever.

Unless you think both Federer and the doctors are lying (which would be simply bizarre), there isn't much to argue about here.

By the way, Nadal losing to Tsonga, Davydenko, Seppi or Youzhny isn't surprising - those are all hard court specialists, where Nadal is weakest on that surface. He's long had trouble with those, and others with similar groundstrokes like Berdych, Blake etc. The Ferrero loss was due to injury.
