Opinions on this future bet. BEARS O/U 8
Total wins in the year
Chicago Bears
Over 8 -115
Under 8 -115
I am a die hard bear fan and I really think the under would be the bet here........ Would you agree??? I am thinking about putting $2,300 on this.

Why not take the over.....Will probably beat most of the teams in their division. I like these kind of bets....Just sit back during the season knowing your money is tied-up in something good

I took the under on them over a month ago. No way Forte, Grossman/Orton, and 3 no name receivers win 8 games. I am willing to also go out on the limb and say the Urlacher will never recover and be a dominating player again. Under all day. While you are at it take the under on the Packers, Texans, Bills, and Minnesota. Quarterbacking play will kill all of these teams.

I do 3 kinds of work, Good, Fast, and Cheap. If the work is Cheap and Good, it won't be Fast. If the work is Cheap and Fast, it won't be Good. And lastly, if the work is Good and Fast it won't be Cheap. Remember that.

Agree on the under. They don't have a QB. They don't have a quality RB. They don't have any WR's that make D-Coordinators stay up late game planning for them. Their only offensive weapon is Devon Hester. The defense will have to be great to keep this from being a disaster.

The consensus that I've read, even aside from fellow posters all seem to lean on the Bears to have an awful year, struggle to win 6 games etc. I just don't see that as being the case.
Look nobody expected the Packers to win their division last year, everyone figured the Bears would. Oh how a year changes things, Minnesota is more of a threat now too, and Detroit remains a non factor, so I think the Bears are just as likely to squeak out a 9 win season as Green Bay is to suffer a post Favre letdown (even with their defense).

So you took the under on Chicago, Green Bay, and Minnesota? You do realize that these three teams play each other twice. Unless you think Detroit sweeps the division, I don't see how this is a wise bet...

You're saying QB play will kill the Houston Texans this year? Why? They have 2 legit starting QB's on their team. Matt Schaub was forced out by injury last year, but look good early on, and then again late in the season. Backup QB Sage Rosenfelds, filled in very well last year. He could start for many other teams. To say the Texans will not win 8 games this year b/c of their QB's is just plain wrong.
Now if you pointed to their schedule, then I would see your point. They're playing a tough schedule and in one tough division. 3 of 4 Teams in their division made it to the playoffs LY. Texans were the worst team in the Division and they finished 8-8. It will be very difficult for the Texans to make the playoffs this year, but it will not be because of ineffective QB playing.
I would think twice about betting UNDER 7.5 WINS this year.
Texans showed a lot of promise in the 2nd half of the season last year.
Just FYI
My 2008 predicition is: 8-8 or 9-7
and still sitting on the outside of the Playoff Picture.

Bears go exactly 8-8. So it's a push, except the bookies get to hold your money for 6 months.

Under bettors would have the edge as I figure the Bears for another 7-9 season. But what if Favre decides he wants to play and GB releases him (a real possibility)? Bears would be crazy not to go after him. Landing Favre would make Chicago's Over the definite play.

Chi has overachieved two years in a row, although last yr they came back down to earth and somehow still exceeded their win total based on skill position talent.
They have shittiest QBs in lg this side of Atlanta, a 3rd down back (Wolfe) who will now feature, and about 4 possession receivers that cannot stretch field. The D is ho-hum at best. Urlacher doesnt have range anymore, I think he had 4 INTs and 3-4 sacks last yr if I am not mistaken, and T Harris isnt same player as before and secondary has been banged up. Special Teams masked this teams shortcomings for a few years and you cant expect Hester to produce at the same clip, especially if hes integral part of O.
Minn will thrash them twice, and you have to think they split series with Det and GB. So the question is where in the hell are they getting 6 more wins out of that schedule?
WAAAAAAAY under.....

It all depends really on how Forte does, now that Benson has gone. I say that now, watch out for Kyle Orton, Superbowl MVP 2009

Who can Sage Rosenfelds start for in the league? There is a reason he is a backup. If he starts 5 games the Texans win 1.

He started 5 games last year and the Texans won 4 of them.
So, why would that change? He threw 15 TD Passes, but also 11 Int. I'm not saying he's T. Brady or anything. However, to say the Texans will struggle b/c of their QB's is incorrect, IMO.
Which teams could this back-up start for? All the ones on your list; Bears (for sure), Vikings, Buffalo (maybe), KC, Raiders, Miami, etc...
