I would say no.
I think 15%ish of "fans" a bet on games. Without sports betting TV ratings would be down 20%ish

It's tough to say what % I think, but yes, gambling creates a lot of income for the sport itself I think.

No Way. Look how popular NFL football is. That is from gambling on it for years. The only reason hockey or baseball is behind the NFL is because a lot of squares get head aches trying to figure out the odds. A lot of squares only play football because they can understand the point spread. Give them Calgary -1.5 +115 and their immediate reaction is NO!

Sports would see a decline in interest if they banned sports betting all together. I feel anyway. Biggest impacted would be the NFL.

Sports betting has increased my interest in the NFL, MLB, AFL, NBA,and NCAA. With the exception of the NFL...if I didn't have a dog in the race I would watch.

75% or more of NFL viewers have money on the game in some form (pools, fantasy, betting).

I couldn't watch the NFL/NHL if I didn't have at least a yard on the game.

I can't remember the exact percentage but I remember it being something like 30-50% of all American households having a monetary bet of some kind (office pool etc.) on the Super Bowl. Well, if the biggest show of the year still requires a bet to make it more interesting then I would have to say that a good percentage of the people still watching the plethora of meaningless games would have to have something on it to dull the pain of watching.

The sports leagues themselves know that they need to have the betting public watching to be as profitable as they are. No gambling means a large loss of the fan base.
