if you go to SBR Odds and click the game it shows some good stats and history of each team...as well as ats trends and what not.

Foxsports has some decent matchup numbers also.

Using different Forums or panels can help! or check some of the sportslines that carry the basics, but I personally favor the forum arena where you can discuss the intangibles, such as injuries, player situations, coaching decisions, and last minute updates with guys who are actually wagering on the games.

good post and point. Sometimes you can really find some people that really have some good inside type information on teams.

I know I cleaned up on a few Georgia State games this year. : )

Know your teams. Some teams are over/under-rated. When I write up a
game I pinpoint why I like them, what stats stand out and key on that.

I think we all have our little systems in our head. One that works for me
is an average or below avg team NOT winning 2 games in a row on
the road vs a team that just lost a home game.
