Solid picks, but it's unlikely that there'll be more than 2 goals in the Germany/Turkey game. Turkey is depleted by injuries and suspensions. Since they may figure out they won't be able to win an open game against Germany, their strategy may be to close shop and play for a draw.
I clearly foresee a scoreless first half in that game. If the first half remains goalless, don't expect 3 goals in the second half of a knock-out game. The group games are over. The knock-out games are something else. I don't want to dissuade you from your play, but a draw is equally a possibility in this one. Nothing makes a soccer game more boring than when one side is playing for a draw.
I had it in me to play Germany but we've seen that the Croatians that beat the Germans 2-0 aren't technically better than the Turks. I'll now stay away from this one or play goals less than 2.5. Just a thought.

I see it the other way around. Germany will start very aggressive, they need to ... and I will see within the first 15 mins a 1-0 score in favor of Germany. Therefore, Turkey must open up and start to attack to get the equalizer, leaving a much better chance of Germany bringing the score even to a 2-0 or 3-0 ... and Turkey (as we all know will fight till the last second) will get a late gol. I see this game being a 2-1 or 3-1.

I like the dimension you've added to your analysis. It's actually easy to see it that way. If the Germans were to score in the first 15 minutes, then the OVER is more than guaranteed. The Germans may start on an aggressive note and have the clear edge on ball possession, but in soccer, 80% ball possession isn't equal to a goal! You could play the ball in your opponents half and they still don't allow you to carve out clear scoring opportunities. If the Turks weren't depleted I would easily go for the same bets as you. But an apparently strong side versus an apparently weak side in a KO game isn't the best setting for many goals. Did you watch Brazil/Scotland in the opening game of the 1998 World Cup? That's the kind of game the Germany/Turkey game is shaping up to be. The likes of Ballack will hardly be given room to operate. For a reminder, the Brazil/Scotland game ended 1-0 in favor of Brazil, not the kind of scoreline you would predict for such a match (or mismatch). Ronaldo (the Brazilian Ronaldo) wasn't allowed room to operate in that game.
GL with your bets.

Yes, I remember that game. But lets just say I have a hunch that Turkey will not go and defend itself from the German offense.

GL on ur wagers as well !!

Turkey will have 10 guys down for this game.

1 of them is there captain (Emre) and an other is there best offensive man (Nihat)

There even thinking of using there 3rd goalie as a sub.

This seems pretty nice to me!!

Hey Wilforth, Brazil beat Scotland 2-1 (not 1-0) in the opening match of the 1998 World Cup. I can still remember I made big $$$ in that match cause I went for Scotland +1.5 goals.

I would agree with you Shark. Out of the 23 men squad, I think there are only 14 players available for Turkey. 4 are suspended, 2 are definitely out of the tournament (including their captain and top striker Nihat Kahveci), 3 are very doubtful for this match. I think it will be short of a miracle if Turkey can pull this through.

Looking at your winning odds of Germany -1, I think it is very low Shark. You can get better odds at some books. It opened at 1.83 (-120) at my books but now it is at 1.73 (-137).

Congrats on your OVER win. Our bet on Germany ended in a PUSH but we have to thank Philipp Lahm for saving us near the death.

We need to build a bronze statue for Sharky! Savior of all soccer bettors of the world. What a performance by Spain! Damn you Donadoni! I'm glad you got fired for making me lose my $3,000 bet on Spain with your 9 man defense.
