Look, I don't know that Ken guy from a hole in the wall. I am not paid to be here and I really don't care if both sites implode from all of this raging testosterone.

This is the way I see it.

It is clear to me that EOG feels that they are superior to SBR, and that's fine. It is good to believe in what you do. With the exception of Mo (whom I think highly of), there are several people who appear to spend a little too much time at EOG (hence paid posters) and then come over here and act all sweetsie nice as if they are being the bigger people by staying neutral. I don't buy it.

As for this Ken fella, every post I have seen from him here at SBR seems structured to the point that he probably reads them over ten times to make sure he doesn't come off as condescending. Why, you may ask? Because he wants to appear to be the bridge that unites the message boards.

The act is cellophane and I think he just needs to tend to his crops over there in EGOland. I could be wrong, and I don't pay much attention, but devout SBR members aren't going over there to tout how incredible this place is, right?

I took a look at the EOG forums as a whole for the first time today. I truly have no interest registering over there, not to mention they even devote entire threads to JJ GOLD. WHAT?? Way too funny.

What alot of people don't realize is eventhough it's a slow time for forum sportstalk,it's prime time to pick up advertisers for the football season.For every free $10 parlay card shrink is handing out,he's most likely getting a $100 or more back in advertising.These sponsors aren't month to month,they have to pay for the season.As soon as the contracts are in,the paid posters are out,come middle of July the chirping will start.

John, I think it's pretty clear to those who can read, who the paid EOG posters are. But why do you care? If SBR has an excellent reputation and is profitable, it shouldn't really matter to the overall success of this site because people follow success. Unless...you have inside information that Ken is offering commission for each head he brings over to EOG. Now THAT would be grounds for irritation.

The fact that SBR hasn't sunk to subpar recruiting methods, should speak volumes to those who are possibly on the fence. I have no loyalty to you guys, but I am very impressed that management has chosen to take the high road, that is until you decided to publicly throw Ken under the bus in the other thread. I think you may regret your choice in doing so.

While I think people should be able to post where they want, I do think that it would be in poor taste if certain individuals were encouraged to post here for any other reason other than wanting to be here.

Truth be told, if EOG sounded enticing to me, I would be posting over there and I wouldn't give a shit what any of you had to say about it.

Good idea on no eog paid posters in the SBR contests.

Robyn no one here is worried. We have far more traffic and a solid growth rate. Its more annoying than anything. We have so many new sites we are working on to further all the posters overall expierence here. Thats always been our focus. Make a review site and make it the best, make a free lines site and make it the best. In six weeks we will introduce 3 new sites that have been in development for a long time.

We beat sites like eog the old fashion way, we work harder. No need to poach their posters or match their games. Just need to create, perfect and work hard.

Im retired in that I do not run SBR anymore, my office is gone, ect. But I started the concept and love it and the great SBR people who work hard. SBR is like a child who grew up into an impressive adult. I'm doing other things now but this will always be my passion.
