Randolph is not the problem with the Mets, Minaya is. The team assembled by Minaya has glaring weaknesses and really has no heart. I dont see this team being a factor unless some personel changes are made.

I think he'll last through the break.

It is an old team. So there isn't another manager who could have this team 10 games above 500%? In my opinion, there is.

Get his ass out of there. I'm not even a Mets fan and I want him gone.

Mets have way too many Dominican players, those type players do not play with any emotion and can care less if they win or lose, most Dominicans are flakes as players.

Yes but its a mistake. Has Baker won a WS? Has the Steelers coach won a national title or SB. What about Dennis Green?

Fox Sports is reporting that his managing status is being re-evaluted every day. The axe could fall any day now.

The NO's have it. Willie Randolph along with pitching coach Rick Peterson and first base coach Tom Nieto were all fired early this morning by the New York Mets. Bench coach Jerry Manuel will take over on an interim basis for Randolph.

Omar got the shakes after seeing Seattle fire their GM on Monday when Bavasi was given the heave-ho. Minaya pulled the trigger now just to look busy so that Wilpon doesn't pink slip his ass.

Have never agreed with firing a manager at this point in the season. Minaya built this club, hired the manager to run it, and doesn't even get halfway into the season before letting his manager go. The real mistake sits in the front office and on the bench as far as I'm concerned.

At this point, it had to be done. Randolph was in a situation (because of the pressure) where his judgment was clouded. It was clear from watching the game last night, and listening to Randolph in the post-game press conference, that he was managing like a desperate man. He left Pelfrey in long after he'd started to lose it, not pulled until close to 120 pitches, then in the post-game press conference basically said he's going to stop looking at pich counts because his bullpen sucks so bad, and needs his starting pitchers to save his ass. (Not literally what he said, I'm paraphrasing, but that was what I took from what he was saying). Might have not gone over very will with Minaya.

They should have just let him ride it out. They're only 1 game below 500%. All they needed was a good winning streak to gain ground on Philly and Florida (those teams aren't going to be hot forever).

He should never have been hired as a manager, he is much better as a coach. He didn't understand the nuances of the NL.
