Mundane,
If the line is pk and the game ends up 0-0 the bet is cancelled. If the line is +0.5 and the game ends up 0-0 you win. If the line is -0.5 and the game ends up 0-0 you lose. This is not the traditional 1X2 three way betting of soccer but you still can make money without high risk. |

You shouldn't bet on the 1X2 or single handicap lines. If I were you, I would bet on the Asian Handicap (Double Handicap) lines.
Cheers and Good Luck !!!

It's nice to see someone in the States having some interest in the Euro tournament. In fact this is 3rd largest sporting event in the World after the Soccer World Cup and Olympics.
Anyway Good Luck in your EURO 2008 punting. Cheers!!!

I sugest you guys to rethink the bet Spain vs Russia. Russia has great potential this year, lot's of zenit (champion of UEFA cup) players, a great coach, and the motivation to finaly come on top of a big cup like this. I belive they will manage into the quarter finals
![]() Also would like to warn about Portugal - I'm from Portugal myself, and as much as I love my country, I think we lack as a team, and will probably struggle this euro even tough we have ronaldo and other great individual players. If you saw Portugal Georgia, the friendly preparation match, you know what I'm talking about. Good Luck ![]() |

@shark: Have you ever seen GREECE playing? This team was lucky that they qualified. They played in a pretty week group. Their biggest problem will be Nikopolidis. He is not that caliber of a goalie you should expekt at a Euro. Charisteas was a sub in most of the matches of our local club here in Germany. This is not the team that was lucky enought to win in 2004. Most of their players are too old. On the other side (Sweden) Ibrahimovic played a weak season in Italy. Most of their players are playing in England or played in England. The players who play in Sweden will be rested because their season just started weeks ago. I see a small advantage for Sweden and would go with Sweden. However having a look at the odds my bet is a DRAW with under 2.5 goals.

@andynbg: Yes, I have seen Greece play ... if you consider them being lucky to qualify, I disagree. Weak or not weak, they qualified and that is what matters. Nikopolidis may not be at the top of his game, but being a goalie, he brings lots of knowledge and support inside the game, and that is key to many teams. Most of their players are too old, well, let me see, just to name 1, Larsson, is he not old?
Greece has a championship to defend ... and I believe that they will leave everything in this first game .... REGARDLESS ... if they qualify or not ... it is not about who has the better team in first game, its about who can focus properly and use there energy to outperform the other team. I believe Greece has that advantage against Sweden.

@shark: So far Nikopolidis made at least 2 mistakes if not more. First the header of Ibrahimovic when he made a couple of steps towards the ball and then stopped. You either have to stay on the line or try to get the ball. What he did was totally wrong and he was lucky that Sweden did not score. The second mistake was when Wilhelmsson got the ball in the second half and Nikopolidis was so slow getting to the ball.
There is no movement in the greek team. they are so slow. greece is happy with the draw. the swedes should realize that and start to attack them in the greek half and not wait in their own half before trying to attack them. Yes, Greece WANTS to defend their title but there is no way for them to make it to the 1/4 finals. Greece may be the weakest team in group D. Average age of Sweden: 31 Greece: 30. This game is by far the worst of the Euro. |

Greece will only pass the group if Russia doesn't manage to make a decent game against them. They will be totaly raped by spain if they keep playing like this. And they are the defending champs with tons and tons of luck. They only won it because the other teams were playing crap and not because of own merit. Belive me, I'm Portuguese, I know.
(we lost the final to them in Euro2004).Edit: 1-0 sweeden. There you go. |

Portugal, Spain, Netherlands and Germany (of course) are the best teams so far. I wasn`t surprised by France and Italy yesterday. France is totally crap. Check the results of both teams prior to the Euro. I wouldn`t be surprised seeing Romania making the 1/4 finals. The Czech team is overrated. Galasek and Koller played for my team Nuernberg and they got relegated. Koller is way too old now and is not the player he used to be in the past. Galasek was totally out of shape in the last 1/3 of the season.
I am looking forward to Switzerland vs. Turkey tomorrow. I expekt at least one red card. That match is pure hateress. Remember the 2nd leg of the qualification match for the WC 2006. |
