The question isn't whether or not fed will win.The question is will monfils retire from the match. Already had a bathroom break right at the start of the match and then he had a trainer on for an "eye injury"
I am going to be pissed if Monfils retires after losing the set and a break down in the second.I need at least two sets to be completed

Fed needs to up his intensity in the finals or else he will get beaten badly. I think all the years of winning easily has made fed lazy

With the intensity that Nadal played today ... if he does exactly the same on Sunday ... Fed will have no chance ... simply will be crushed ... question is ... if he is just keeping his energy for a serious match ... like the finals.

The last couple of times fed has played nadal fed has had big leads in sets that he blows and ends up losing the matches. Had he just served out those sets then he quite possibly could have won the match.
I've always had a feeling that this would be feds year to win here.Every year he plays so well all year then blows it in the final to nadal but this year he hasn't been playing that well so I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up winning it now.Things works out weird like that sometimes

So true ... I recall last years final ... simply bad choices cost him the tourney ... but I do understand ur point .. he really hasnt been pushed to win the games ... he has done it at 70 - 80% effort .... would not be amazed if he takes it this year. I will go with Nadal for finals.

blows it? how about nadal, the best clay court player in history, kicks his ass? thats what happens. nadal is something like 114-2 in his last 116 on clay, and did have a 81 match streak on clay. he has also won 3 straight french finals and is now in his 4th straight final. i think nadal just owns fed on this surface, it's not about fed "blowing it"

nadal absolutel blew his chance to beat fed in the 07 wimbledon final, that one went 5 sets. at roland garros, fed has lost 3-1 in sets the past 3 yrs to nadal. not blowing it, its called getting your ass kicked. i like fed, but when i read stupid shit like this, i hope for him to get destroyed again in the final, and ignorant tennis fans who love fed get their mouths shut again

would you agree that nadal blew it at the wimbledon final in 07 when he eventually lost in 5 sets?
