Rep points are a joke, childish, and grossly abused by a few.

"If I like you I give you points, if I don't I take them away .... I have the power" ... Sound familiar?

They were given out, good and bad, based on foolishness.

Just a suggetion to SBR:

If the rep points have some kind of value in it, I think this would make a lot more people register this website, and post quality reply knowing that they will probably get a rep for it, and thus, SBR will even bring it more traffic, and more recognition, and more value.

Just my 2 cents.

rep points should maybe be awarded by the moderators or the administrator, but all in all they are not that big of a deal. I used them when i first got here just to find out who knew what they were talkin about and for the most part they were accurate.

Also the points are needed to for people understand who the posters are especially inexperience new gamers.

When I first came to SBR I looked at yourself imgv94, Bigboydan, Onlooker, TacoMax, SBR John, BuddyBear, Raiders, AK, and the many of others I wish I can get everyone here/ I know some of these people are banned and etc. But I came to listen to their advice to make me a better gamer because the rating system does help out alot.

Bottom line here is the powers to be, for whatever reasons, decided that rep points were detrimental to the health of the forum and its posters ... As far as Winston Smith goes, he's clearly not in your corner, but conducts his differences in a civil manner without the endless profanity, trash talk and venom you spew ... Funny how the one that abused them the most, wants them back.

In all honestly there has been posters that didn't like my posts before because sometimes it was very offended like the Jewish Tax tax debate however we all made peace out of it. The three main reason I keep coming is the quality of response, Rep systems shows me who the legit and pretenders are, and fun to interact with everyone.

THere are other like therx that might have more people viewing their site or sportscrew that has a neat game tracker database at the time being, however of the course of quality with good poster and rep system, SBR forums will set themselves probably by end of this year even more popular down the road as the main place to be because of the quality and unique rep system they use. I know a few abuse it and brag about the points all the time, however it is very essential to have it.

I think if it ever did come back then those known to have abused it before should not be allowed them. That is reasonable as who would want rep-point abusers to look respectable.

I agree, I don't think it will allow just one vote per week. Hell, I doubt it would allow just one a day.

Truthfully Img, I dont think they care if they had rep points or not.

Its really not that big of a deal IMHO. I cant see why its that important to some.

If you post here on a regular basis, you will see who the good, the bad, and the ugly are. Hell, just part timers could see that I feel.

I am getting tired of talking about the rep points. When I 1st came
to this forum there were no rep points and we all managed fine. I am
getting blamed for abusing the system which was wrong. I was asked
by someone to give Mudcat bad rep points. I never did.

SBR reviews should change their name to "BonusPoints.com" with all the replies and heat this is getting. Or maybe a whole category section on bonus and rep points seems fitting.
