    Default Specific Guidelines

I'm interested in knowing what guidelines are used when threads or posts are diverted.

from what i understand, it's personal attacks and personal info being posted. other than that i don't believe there is anything else that i can think of off hand isetcap.

The answer is there aren't specific guidelines. The forum isn't on auto-pilot and our mods, who are human, do a great job keeping the place clean and giving the same strike zone to everyone. If posters think they aren't getting the calls they will just have to be sure they toss em right down the middle.

I don't really have a problem with any of my diverted posts or threads, but I can see how other people in here might feel that their antagonists are receiving Greg Maddux/Tom Glavine treatment.

I do have questions about how the posts by Spellchecker in the main forum could be classified as unclean or personal attacks or personal info. That certainly isn't the intention of their author.

I think that Bill answered that perfectly. If a poster keeping serving right on the line time after time then they're going to get bad calls.

Also, it is the case that if specific people are bending/breaking the rules time after time then their posts will be looked at more closely and dealt with more harshly than a random Poster X.

Simply put, if you post nice and post nicely to others then this will never be a problem.

Wow, I feel dumb. It only took me a day to figure out what this mysterious avatar was.

Shows how much I paid attention to.....well, nevermind.

Bill I hope I can get a response? Cause Winston Smith insults me daily
on how unintelligent he thinks I am. Just read #8 post on here thats someone
who is not stupid. But consistently he tells me I am.

    Speaking for myself,

I want this place to be about good information and making money and humor. The feedback I get from my fellow posters indicates that the majority feels that way.

I am a very inexperienced mod so I will probably be working out for awhile what should be diverted and what should be edited, but in general if I see an on-topic discussion and there is a sudden outburst of name-calling, slander or whatnot, I'll do something.

    So don't do that.

And I would divert any kind of obvious shill post to Website Promotions. There is judgement involved. I would divert a pick thread in the main section to the appropriate sport forum. If I think something is more of a Site Suggestion than a general discussion topic, I would divert it over there.

Personally, Id say never edit or delete ... divert as much as you want though.

After all, we are all over 18 ... and I definately do not want a mod deciding for me what I can or cant read. Exceptions being promotions, shilling, etc that have no business on a player forum.

But, as far as I am aware, no mod has ever deleted anything other than shills or new poster/ghost posters just being moronic.
