All the candidates suck. None understand basic economics (gas tax holiday stupidity). Hillary will suck off lobbyists like you wouldn't believe. Obama is too 'visionary' to be pragmatic. McCain won't live through his first term, so be careful who his running mate is.

Republican, two reasons this election.First, if Obama gets elected capital gains taxes are going to double, so he can fund more programs for the less fortunate, Im sick of paying the way for the less fortunate. Secondly, Obama will fold to the anti gun folks (Brady, Feinstein, etc.), and try to toughen up federal gun laws, which are tough enough already.

2nd amendment was designed to keep an armed militia in case govt got out of control. What is its purpose now in 2008??

I have no investments so raise that through the roof, only ppl make a profit on stock market are billionaire inside traders anyway. Don't own any guns, so no prob there either, though there are so many guns in this country I think they'd only end up taking them from the law abiding citizens so I'm not a fan of strict gun control laws as if you're a criminal that's going to shoot ppl you are not going to worry about breaking gun control laws.

You probably heard about Barack Obama’s statements. For those that don’t know; Obama stated that he would withdraw troops from Iraq only to redeploy them into Afghanistan. He would then use our troops in Pakistan. Pakistan is our ally. The diction that Obama used seem to imply that it would be “whether Musharraf likes it or not.” I am no diplomat, but that probably isn’t a good thing to say to one of our few allies in the middle east. It might come across as… I don’t know, abrasive? He’s basically said he is willing to invade an ally to hunt down terrorists.

Couldn’t Obama have implied “we’ll work together?” This isn’t very Democrat like behavior.

If this isn’t showing what kind of a person Obama really is, nothing will. While Pakistan may harbor terrorists, so does Iran, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon… the list goes on. So why not go after the states that not only harbor terrorism but endorse it? I’d say it’s fairly obvious that Obama is simply trying to appeal to the “hawks” or those that have been more in favor of the Iraq conflict.

This shows Obama is two-faced, and frankly just like the rest of the people in politics; only saying and doing what will allow him to keep his political career. In the end though, all politicians are. I hate to be this pessimistic, but for my first presidential election that I will be able to vote in, I’m totally uninterested and scared.

Im afraid your going to lose that argument, the Supreme Court recentley heard that argument and 5 possibly 6 of the judges agreed we have a right to own weapons, of course the final judgement hasnt been released yet, I believe its due out in July.

Im not going to argue guns here, my position is get the criminals off the streets and then gun related crimes will be so small it wont be an issue. Ive owned weapons for 25 + years and have managed, like 95% of the rest of legal gun owners not to commit any crimes.

Agreed.. I am really stunned that he has gotten this far as well. I just think it is the "in thing" to like Obama and think he will be the next great thing. I could never vote for a Democrat.

Both the Democrats and Republicans have no real solutions. Universal Healthcare is not possible, there is no way to pay for it. And the Republicans will just keep on spending money that the country doesn't have. But I will go with the lesser of two evils and vote for McCain. I think McCain will fend off all of the environmental benchmarks Congress is trying to pass.
