when i was growing up living in a pretty citified place , kids would call it soda . it sounded strange to me . my family would refer to it as would you like a pepsi , sprite or dr pepper mt dew . they never used the soda or pop word .
they would call it soft drink if i remember correctly .

all the black kids would call it soda and it always stuck me as odd . give me soda ! but now i call it soda sometimes , never call it pop . but i have called my grandpa's pop all my life .
