ok tonight i think rust comes into play for pitt and the rams they , both have alot of guys from last year coming back .pitt is a very athletic team and the favorites to win the big east this season .the rams are no push overs we all remember what they did in the nit going to the semies and are very athletic up front with a lot of kids from nyc prison circuit just joking .any way i'm taking the points and the rust rams +12 5x
Pitt did have 10 practices and 5 games in Ireland over the summer so they might have a little less rust than expected. Not disagreeing with the pick, just providing some info that I haven't seen anyone mention.
I think Pitt is too deep for RI. Their 9-10 man rotation is as good as any team's in the country. Gilbert Brown is back and healthy and it looks like Pitt has a solid point guard in Woodall which bodes well for Gibbs who can be a shooter/scorer and not a facilitator all the time. I think Pitt dominates the boards in this game and wins it by 15-20. Let's hope the line gets down to about 11. Every little bit helps.
I really am not sure what to expect out of Maryland without Vasquez, he would single handedly cover games by himself last season. A lot of people seem to think Seattle is a half decent team, so I probably won't be touching that one.
Most years I would be all over the Pitt/RI under, but Jamie Dixon has been saying that they want to use their depth this year and run more than usual. He also says that anytime Woodall is running the point they will be looking to get out in transition because of how fast he is. A few years ago when Pitt had the talent to get out and run with Levance Fields and Sam Young they were going over a ton for the first few months of the season until vegas caught on. I am going to watch a few games and see what kind of pace they are playing at.
The smart decision is probably to lay off all of the games today, but what is the fun in that. I will probably take Pitt as a homer pick because I want to see them get off to a hot start and think they can, and I may take Illinois because I also like their experience and size.
all last year pitt in all there games only won by more then 10 pts twice !! once to oakland in the tourney to oakland and to rutges at the tail end of the season .
" The early start to the season meant a shorter preseason, which could be a concern for the Panthers. Dixon has been dealing with some injuries to some key players. Nasir Robinson, who started all 34 games last season, is out with a knee injury. Ashton Gibbs, Gilbert Brown, Gary McGhee and Lamar Patterson each missed some practices within the past week. Brown missed the most time because of a hamstring injury and had a hard time getting into the flow in Pitt's final exhibition game Thursday night .
Rhode Island is led by a trio of seniors. The leading returning scorer is 6-foot-8 forward Delroy James, who averaged 13.2 points per game last season. Center Will Martell (7.5), at 7 feet, and point guard Marquis Jones (5.7 ppg) also play key roles for the Rams."
"They're a pretty talented team," senior guard Brad Wanamaker said. "They push the tempo. They press. They're constantly attacking you. They have some good wings, some good big men. It'll be a tough game for us."

you know what guys i like the over 135 in pitt tonight .both sides have some run in gun type of point gaurds !jbug i remember that team sam young was good story and player .with this new point guard pitt should be able to puch it but uri does have a 7 footer in the middle i could see these 2 teams go at each other a a quick pace
hey wiz i'm confident rhody can cover teased up to say 16/17
but 11/12 is a little scarier. based on what i've read i expect both these teams
to be better than they were last year.. just a huge advantage for Pitt tonight,
makes the spread larger than it normally would be.
i agree that 11 or 12 is risky and a tease might be the safer play snow ball.now that i've heard what you guys have to say i might go the other way or at tease it
Those Covers stats are of dubious use. I've tried using them as a main handicap tool when near when I first started capping before, and my winning percentage didn't change. It wouldn't surprise me if some are made up, and of course they leave some important trends out. This isn't a surprise, as Covers would want you to lose.
ok fellas at 1st look here's what i like georgetown pk vs old dominion in a revenge game for a lose to them last year but old d. is a good team and wont be a pushover pk you got to go with the talent of gt at pk.
s.fla is a great young team that beat gtown and nd last year and they are all back i think they had 1 senior on the team last year anyway they can run and shoot the 3pt . like s fla.tonight but ml vs s miss is good on the road with a 14-3 ats so, i'm leaning under not sure wanna know what you guys think !!
temple - 4 or-5 they are a good team that knows how to play defense and seton hall simply doesn't play defense at all but they can shoot lights out !i'll take the defense and home court temple -4 they should be able to shut seton down with the defense!
s. fla -2
george town pk *****like the most
temple -4
n.iowa +11*******love this pick with the cuse the under is a good play with these two defenses and take the points !!

hey , guys well college hoops are here
1st play for the day is northeastern vs s.illi ok they both started the season in different fashions with north eastern beating a tuff boston u at home for bragging rights in boston for the year , that is a big win for this team to repeat there 20 wins they had last season 3 starts are returning for northeastern. On the other hand there is s.illi who opened the season with a lose to power house illini by double digits and they have a new system under a new coach which spells a under to me plus northeastern plays great defense if you can get the under take it .
