    Default Limit Your Plays Weekly

You will see your win rate go up. Do not beleive BS that if you like 30 games bet them all. The spot bettors have a better channce of being in the plus vs. the guys betting tons of games.

Books do not like spot bettors but like guys betting lots of games

As long as you can hit at a rate higher than the vig you are paying, then the more the better. No reason to limit plays. Better off hitting 55% with 100 plays/week than 57% with 10 plays/week.

I believe this is a big difference between professionals and those who do it for entertainment. If I would have taken all the money I have wagered over the past 5 years and put it on my 3 or 4 best games each day of the weekend, I know that I would be ahead. Instead, I do it as a hobby and don't control my plays- costing myself money. Stupid to admit on my part, but you're theory is proven. I do better on college than pro and I think it is because I have more games to choose from.

7 to 9 games a day here a week JJ this time of year for me is my max. now, when hoops and pucks start up, well thats different.

5-7 NCAAF and 2-4 NFL games a week is my agenda. Anything higher than that would be a violation of the rules I've set for myself.

It's much easier to hit 55-59% of your games betting 7-11 games a weekend then betting 40 games a weekend. The vig and tight lines are going to catch up to you sooner or later...you can count on it.

About the same here. 5-9 a week for foots.

Bases, Hoops, etc...(everyday sports) I try to keep at 3 a day between them all. Not 3 plays each, just 3 plays a day period. Sometimes less.

My personal philosophy is exactly the opposite of the premise of this thread. I play as many high percentage plays as possible.

My only goal is to find more all the time.

Saying you should limit plays as a blanket statement doesn't make sense to me - unless you know you are making losing plays.

If that's the case, I agree it is a good idea to cut down.

Mudcat: what you do is different...you've identified trends that are going to produce winners in the longterm therefore you don't have to worry as much. If you are just trying to pick winners by sides I would not bet the slew of games...i would isolate ones you believe to be the strongest and then go from there.

In your case, the more the better!

To all his own, but betting a load of games will come back and bite you in the ass no matter what, sometime down the line.

But if anyone is successful with what they are doing, keep doing it.

Well Mudcat knows what he is doing...he is an exception here and follows situational trends but for those of us don't do trends and have other methods for picking winners that are far less stable betting a bunch of games is going to catch up with you especially if you vary your bet size and start doing 2 star games and 15 star lock games and things like that.

Yeah I'm just speaking for myself and not trying to convince anybody to do anything.

The truth is, the large majority of bettors lose money long-term and therefore the large majority of bettors would be financially better off placing fewer bets. If a guy is losing 5 units for every 100 bets he places, better he should be placing a hundred bets a month rather than every week.

You see when you bet less games you are limitng your loses, the worst days are Saturdays as it is difficult to only bet a few games as you need strong will power.

If you want more action just play real small parlays for fun on the side.
