When a batter gets beamed, and storms the mound - what does he think he is really going to accomplish?

95% of the time the batter runs out to the mound like a psycho, attempts to tackle the pitcher, they go to the ground, 1 punch is landed, and the hog pile of players begins.

What the hell is the point? If you really, really, had intentions of hurting the guy:

1. Tell your teammates to not start the hog pile nonsense, its hard to fight with 10 guys on top of you.

2. Bring the bat to the mound.

I think its all a sham.....
