Default Carib Sports - a couple of football offers to be aware of

Tuesdays from noon to midnight EST for the regular season, they have -102 on pro football sides bets. It says the special may not apply when the spread is 3.

Fridays from 9 pm to Saturday 9 am EST, get a free half point on college football sides. I just gave them a call and apparently there is no restriction relating to the numbers 3 and 7. Regular overnight limits will apply.

They seemed to back off the -102 Fridays like they use to have

    Why even offer it then

Mudcat, do you know what the "regular overnight limits" are?

That's a tougher question than you would think D2.

Not only do I not know, but no one I could get at Carib knows either. I got transferred around quite a bit and finally a sweet young chick said she would look into it further and e-mail me the information. However she said to expect that e-mail after Friday. So I guess she plans to go on the site and just take a look when the lines are up for the promotion.

We should all be able to look up the per ticket max for ourselves before that answer comes (I've made a note for myself to follow-up), but there is the additional question of whether or not multiple max tickets are allowed on a side (as they are during the day). Hopefully some clarity on that will follow.

So my official answer at this point is: I am awaiting a response on your query sir.

thanks for this mudcat...I just got down on some games using VIP's happy hour on college football games (4-9 PM EST) where they offer -105 on all college football games...it's good to see books offering these types of promotions to stay competitive...

Ok Jeopardyboy! Here is one for you...

Is the -102 offered on games where the line is lopsided? I remember Dimeplayer had a -105 special on Fridays and i hit it on every lopsided priced line. At first I expected to just get a 5% discount but they gave me it at -105. How does this joint work it?? -130 down to -102???

On the forum...I agree these mods are good. They are good becuse they are like regular players and are not trying to shove promotions form advertosers at everyone. I am not squinting one eye and tilting my head when i read their posts. Actually... in the beginning i said WTF because when people would ask abot even a good site everyone gives the negatives first! got to like that.

    Whos boozing tonight!??

Man, I tell ya. I make a little post about a couple of promos and suddenly I have to know EVERYTHING.

No, that's a very reasonable question and, again, I'm not sure of the answer (and, after my last try phoning them, I'm not enthusiastic to do it again). My guess is they mean 4 cent lines where they might be -102/-102 or then again they could be -112/+108 (or whatever).

But that's just a guess. That would be outstanding (to say the least) if they just set every number at -102 without variation. But I have to doubt it.

I've got a pop-up reminder set for next Tuesday and I'll take a close look at the whole set-up and report back here.

These juice discounts are great deals and I'm a happy customer of Carib's, but for the record they do limit their bonuses to $100 max. Regarding 3's the -102 usually doesn't apply to keep it away from middlers, though if they think it's solid I have seem them hang them. The college half-points do apply to 3, at least they did last week (lucky me got Miami -2.5). Any NFL game with an unstable line they also won't hesitate not to hang on two cent tuesday, but it doesn't happen often.

I'm not complaining, it's still a nice offer, but the friday night thing isn't really a free half point. It's more like a free quarter point. To me, a free half point means if the line is 6, I can move it to -5.5 or +6.5. The way carib does this is they post the line directly -5.5/+6, or -6/+6.5 and you choose from there. Don't get me wrong, it's still a nice offer, but "free half point" is a little decpetive.

Again though, this is not a complaint.

You beat me to it. Yep, it's a bit deceptive. Kind of like the sticky bonus deal, it's not quite what it sounds like at first.

But it's better to have this than to not have it.

$2000 limit on these. That's the per ticket limit and the absolute limit.

BTW I have no funds in my Carib account at the moment so I couldn't check the limit for myself.

I phoned and asked and 2K was what I was told. But I have to comment: the CS people there sure don't sound sure of themselves about anything.

I'm not directly involved in the ratings so that's not really for me to say. For the type of player I am, Carib is better than a few of the "A" books. I would make sure I had funds in my Carib account before, say, Bet365.

Carib is outstanding with Neteller payouts. I feel completely safe with my money there.

A big downside for me: like Olympic and CRIS, Carib has 20 cent lines on MLB sides.

Carib is a pretty good book and B- is a pretty good rating. I honestly don't know all the factors that go into our ratings. Certainly, they are designed to be relevant to a broad range of gamblers and not just WHAT IS BEST FOR MUDCAT.

My gut feeling is that I could see Carib being upgraded a notch at some point.

I'm looking at it right now and all the lines ( except for spreads of 3) are -102 on both side. It is looking pretty good to me.

I am told there is a $1000 per ticket limit. I am also told you can go back and try to place more tickets on the same side if you want - but they couldn't tell me how many times. She just said, Try it and see if it gets accepted."

There has been a recurring theme in this thread about how hard it is to get solid info from Carib's Customer Service regarding these promos. It's a shame.

But these lines are looking pretty good right now.
