Default Lots of threads on the Martingale - Here's the best one and I've tried it

read this on a racing forum 5-6 yrs ago , tried it several times where the surf meets the turf never lost $$

watch the board and bet the closing fav to Show , if you collect start over , if you lose Martingale , start over from the beginning when you cash

    Calculate what exactly?

Martingale these bets and you'll rarely lose. There's no question about that.

But that doesn't magically make this system +EV.

I agree , let me see if my thinking is correct.

because of the track's take from the Show pool every single Show bet is -EV. regardless how one does it no way to turn any series of -EVs into a +EV

    You got it.

If your show bets are -EV there's no possible way to structure your wagers so as to turn net a +EV betting system.
