Greatest Cover in the History of the CFL

Game Tied 30-30, Montreal lining up for a game winning FG -- Bad news for me, because I have Montreal -4.5. Toronto decides to put players in the end zone to return the kick if missed (it was a 36 yd FG, but remember CFL has 30 yd endzones). Montreal misses the FG, and Toronto is forced to kick it out to avoid the single point. They do and Montreal catches it and punts it back into the endzone. Toronto catches it in the endzone and punts it again, but the punter basically whiffs and it rolls around, and is recovered in the endzone by Montreal. TD Montreal. Game over, Montreal wins by 7, somehow. I do not pretend to understand it. I will just cash the ticket.

Nice cover bud. Every now and then those crazy, unthinkable things happen. Just remember this the next time you lose a crazy one and it'll burn a little less :-)

I'm still not sure how there were 4 kicks in one play. Just amazing.

tell those fukks to stop punting on 3rd down.

must be the worst fukkin coaches ever in that league

Pretty sure the only guy paid to kick was the first one.

  8. #8

That was pretty obvious......... I didn't know you could have four kicks in one play.

so am I reading this wrong or was there multiple punts on one play?

I haven't ever watched the CFL... and if I read it right thats incredibly queer.

i just saw the highlights on the news, so many things had to happen perfectly for mtl to cover that game. crazy.

  14. #14

I also hit the -4.5 on that play. Turned the TV off when they were going for the FG... thought I was done. Can't find the Video highlight for this. it won't work on CFL.ca

SO confused...Could they not tie? What was the point of that? I thought CFL was just like NFL but Canadian.

here is a synopsis of final play
als line up for 33 yard field goal...if they miss they can still win with a single...ball is not returned out of endzone
field goal is missed and ball almost goes out of endzone(20 yards deep) but 2 players jump at end line and knock ball back
no chance to run it out now so they punt it out
original kicker catches ball and punts it back in
player tries to catch it but muffs it
runs forward kicks ball on ground
ball bounces between players and finally about 2 yards deep in endzone recovered for td
    another normal cfl game

Seems much cooler than the NFL. Will start watching.

why didn't they just punt instead of a FG initially, can't a punter kick the ball farther?

With twnety yard endzones and goal posts at the front the field goal only needs to go 20 less yards to guarantee points if you can get it through the uprights.

NFL is irrational by flipping a coin to decide who's in possession in OT. Ethnocentric shit!

Okay even after watching the video and reading people's responses. WTF was that lol. Why did the team knock the ball back in bounds in the first place? Would they not retain possession after the miss? And what were the announcers talking about getting 1 point? I don't get this shit, fuckin Canada man

how the fuk does CFL make sense?
missed field goal u gotta kick the ball out or its 1 point ???

    wtf ?

  30. #30

That was the gayest thing I've ever seen

First of all, how is it a point if the ball goes out the back of the endzone on a FG?
Second, why didn't the FG kicker kick it straight as hell out the back of the endzone instead of kicking it at an angle and trying to make it?
Third, 5 yard rule? You should be able to block the shit out of those "kick outs"

    What a hit though!

  31. #31

what doesnt make sense is why the **** american football rely on flipping coin on who retains possession on ot? by all means of luck ?

  32. #32

    Good stuff. Well coached
