Default Questions/Concerns about the Golf Tourney...

So, this thing is going down on August 23rd. There are a few things to keep in mind:

With a tourney of 30+ players I would expect the round to go at least 5 hours. Round trip driving to any of the courses I would expect to be 1 hour total. So at best, we are looking at 6 hours out of the day. Now, there are a couple of things to consider if I am reading right...

Tee-times are going to have to be pretty early:

1.) What time would we tee off? Its ****ING HOT here. For example a 9am tee-time gets us finishing around 2pm (100+ weather). Have to make it back to the Nugget in time for the poker tourney which is ~3pm. That would be cutting it pretty close.

2.) Assuming that I am right about an early tee-time, there is a party the night before. Can we count on people to not get so shitfaced that they will be too hungover to come golf super early in the morning?

Those are my questions concerns so far.

Oh yea... has anyone thought about transportation to the course yet?

5 hours? Are you people old and decrepit?

or you all could just pair up and hit from whichever is closer to the hole...that'll reduce the 18 holes to about 2 hours.

A scramble would be a good idea, kinda even the playing field and keep the speed of the rounds up

Best ball scramble still takes quite some time. You are still hitting the same amount of shots more or less. I guess I could be wrong on the time, but I think it would take awhile.

i couldnt imagine 18 taking no longer than 4 to 4 1/2 hrs depending on how the heat takes its toll...we could play a pairs best ball or something? who knows maybe have a 25-50 dollar a head...2nd place gets their money back...1st takes home 4-8 hundo?

i slice a lot from the drive, but when i hit it right, i can pretty much make par everytime. i am a shitty golfer...that is why i did not sign up for the tourney so i won't embrass myself in front you guys need to buy a new set of clubs to get some practice

Its in your grip. I could probably fix that slice in 10-15 minutes.

i can hit the ball decent with my woods and low irons...but i need to work my short game like crazy...the majority of my strokes come from my wedges and high irons...

it could also be in his mechanics...some people open their club head through their grip and others have bad mechanics going from outside to inside...im sure scratch kellen could explain this better than me

I'm with you there Rickaswede. I don't want to take the clubs across country. I would much rather rent a set. Can't this thing start early like at 7:00 am. I sizable subset of people are coming from the east coast and to us it will feel like 10:00 EVEN HUNG OVER.

the next time in am in st louis, let's get a 18 round in st charles. there is one course they let you drive the carts on the fairway and the green fee is only 20 dollars...i think it might have gone up. my buddy and I susually bring a cooler of 24 packs...i don't think i ever lasted the entire 18 holes.
