Default Do you have a MySpace or Facebook page?

I see we have some MySpace users here. How mant SBR posters have do you think have one? Which do you like better?

haha actually there was a picture of me with just a terrible towel over my crotch from when the steelers won the super bowl, I said if we won the game I would go streaking and that I did, that was a fun time and that may have been what got me banned if they found it but it was well after I had put that up I never really found out why just said screw um

facebook was a lot better when they limited it to just college people...now everybody and their mom is invading this gated community...

Can't blame um though college kids don't have as much cash to pump in to advertisers pockets and thus they don't get as big of a cut

ehhh...they branched into high schoolers first before they opened it up to specific city networks though...regardless facebook has made bank in the past 4 years

yah, that is true even so I think a lot of high schoolers have more expendable $ that they are actually willing to blow then college kids or adults

Myspace takes all those categories Bill, the best thing about facebook in my opinion is you know what others are up to the second you sign on and it notifys you when someone joins a group maybe we should start an SBRforum group on facebook haha then anyone we are friends with will see we joined it and may end up over here posting

Myspace you can do the videos, total 100% customization, blogs, pics, the whole package.

Blow facebook outa the water. SBR has more benefit to a myspace then a facebook

myspace: seems more open to the public, always had a top friends, easy layout manipulation/control, available playlist/song on profile...

facebook: more gated community, like the wall layout better, loved the graffiti application when it came out!, easier to navigate through friends, viewing photos is better IMO, more structured overall layout, no spam problems, dont have random fake people adding and messaging you, easier to navigate through, etc etc IMO

    facebook > myspace

The worst part about myspace to me, by far, is how much loading the pages can mess up your computer. I don't know if that's because myspace pages are too massive, or because they are poorly programmed/designed, but loading a myspace page (or even worse, more than one at a time) can cause your computer to freeze and malfunction and you have to reboot.

i have both a myspace and a facebook account. both have their strengths and drawbacks:

    myspace:

pros: ability to put 100 or so songs on the page, more control over design of page
cons: if you aren't careful you will get more spam than JJ gets tranny ass...even if you are careful you will still get alot of spam...just not quite as much as JJ gets tranny ass, stupid applications coming over from facebook

    facebook:

pros: much less of a spam center, better recognition of user created objects (ability to tag other facebook users in photos and the person you tag is notified of the tag), instant messaging
cons: applications are the equivalent of myspace spam, sometimes worse depending on the user, less control over page design

Dozer, at one time facebook was only for people who were in high school or college but that may have changed. In worst case scenario you could make up the school and such. Quebb is correct in saying that myspace is better for SBR, however it would also be wise to get SBR on facebook - the more marketing channels the better.

i guess the more the merrier by creating a sbr for facebook...but can you make an account strictly for a forum? i mean i guess you could create an account and name it SBR...i was assuming that if you put something sbr related on fb it would be a group or something? thats a main plus for sbr and myspace...you can make group specific profiles unlike on fb...

Very true about the fact that if properly entered into facebook SBR would be a group, not an actual user profile. The catch 22 with creating a group is that there are currently 53 groups labeled "SBR" on facebook. However, I do know that "workplace" is an acceptable network for facebook. I tried looking into this hands on but right now facebook's server is down. Once the server is back up this means one of two things:

    1. You can create a facebook account for SBR as being a "workplace". (this may be doable but see below).
    2. An existing user must list SBR as their workplace and others can search for all users who work at SBR and just add them as friends (this is the more probable of the two and the option that would most likely be done without "going around" the social networking schema of the site).

Damnit, I don't know about you guys but facebook has never been down for me until now - when I need to use it to address something.

ok update. I went ahead and put down on my facebook account that I work for SBR as a "poster". Go to facebook, search for the company "SBR Forum" and see if you can find me drinking a tall one. If you did then SBR is officially on facebook. If not then it's time to try plan B.

Thought I was the only one... Myspace is a huge resource hog when I log in there..

I've always wondered why Myspace slows my computer to a halt.

I think using ms/fb or both of the sites is a complete utter waste of time, unless you're some loser, looking for a date on one of the social networks. If i need to talk to a friend i'll either call or text them, though i do have a myspace, i never use it. Although, i will say myspace is a great place to find out about artist, which is one of the only reasons i go on it, to look at a bands myspace page or something of that nature.

I have a facebook and myspace account. Facebook is really stupid....I am so tired of all of the stupid applications people are constantly sending (buying drinks, asking to join vampire clubs, sending hugs, etc).

Myspace has pros and cons, but it is much easier to navigate.
