Its a tough call, how many of Deuce's horses are running in the race?

"He is a phenomenal talent, we got our hands full," said Desormeaux, who hopes to win next Saturday's Preakness with Big Brown and come to the Belmont with a chance at the Triple Crown. "He's got that stride; that's what I call it, that stride."

Desormeaux then spotted his agent, Mike Sellitto, and said, "There's your competition buddy, wooo!"

I just bought Casino Drive a few minutes ago. I think I will skip the Belmont after watching Big Brown today. Do not know why I wasted my money on this horse.

No. Casino Drive is breed to run this distance. Watch the replay of the Peter Pan Stakes ! He's just getting into his best stride at the finish line. Gato de Malo could have a look if he runs. The Belmont can produce strange results because at a mile and one half the pace {fast or slow** can factor into the outcome. Remember Smarty Jones? With a better timed ride he wins the triple Crown.
The field in the Preakness was weak. There are some new shooters waiting to spoil the applecard in three weeks.
Big Brown appears the best 3 year old right now. They said the same thing about the "Bid" in 1979. He finished third. Big Brown Likely winner YES Lock? no

LOL my bad Casino Drive wasn't in the Preakness (thought you were talking about one of the horses running today), but extremely doubtful he'll be able to match this machine of a horse in Big Brown at the Belmont, but will be nice to see a new horse with some talent as currently BB has very lil competition

Does not matter how weak everyone says the fields have been. He is in a class all by himself , could have destoyed the field today if allowed too.

thezbar said it best. He'll probably win but he is far from a lock, and there is no way I'd take him at 1/5. The mile and a half distance and fresh distance specialists waiting in the wings always makes this the toughest Triple Crown race to win.

Big Brown looked fresher than Durito at a Menudo Reunion concert after the race. Cant wait to try and pick the winners. I say he loses.

so you would say belmont is the hardest of the 3 races?

he is a beast he won by what 5 1/2 and he was not even riding the dam horse, I will be taking BB as he should be a better price than he was today barring bad weather or something along those lines, Rain= Taking the field for a large figure, Normal day BB will take it easy

Smarty Jones won the Preakness by 10+.

He was then viewed to be a lock for the Belmont too.

i think the horse is a machine also, but anything can happen, he could be the next Real Quiet and lose by a head in the Belmont. i think if Denis of Cork runs(i don't thing he is supposed to), he'll give him a run also, that horse came from out of nowhere in the derby to grab 3rd and was charging hard, his last 1/8 was crazy.

Oh DEFINITELY the hardest of the three races without question. It is no coincidence that quite a few horses have won the first two legs only to crash and burn at Belmont.

  24. #24

Yea but Desormeaux is unlikely to blow it again like he did with Real Quiet in 98, he's got a 2nd chance for the Triple Crown and he's riding that Brown machine all the way home IMO

He didn't even crop this horse the whole race. 1.5 is childs play for this Crown winner. I know my opinion is nothing being a newbie, but I haven't been this vocal about any horse in any previous Crown race in 20 years. But it's still a no play because the risk/reward SUX! Track condition is still a factor this far out in time. So updates will be needed prior to post.

Dont think Desormeaux even let him start to run.Hope he lets him run in the Belmont because he will crush the field probably by the lenght of the stretch.

thats why he lost the Belmont he bounced and the Preakness was only a workout for BB.
