    Default Cancelling Pending Wagers

I know this may sound like a stupid question but do any online sportsbooks let you cancel pending wagers? Why shouldn't you be able to cancel a wager if the game hasn't started yet? A lot can happen from when you place a wager and until game time. Just curious....

That's exactly why... why should they let you cancel when something goes against you, but you'd expect it to stand if one of the other team pulls up in warmups..

because they are changing lines because of your bets and because you want to take advantage of the early line.
If you are not sure if you want to make a bet for that game then wait 10 minutes before the game and make your bet.

early lines can be an advantage but can also go against you later. it is the risk you take with the early lines

Some books will let you cancel a pending wager if the line hasn't moved. CRIS has done this for me. I remember Intertops did this for me a long time ago - and they e-mailed me a little lecture about how I really need to be more careful before I confirm. LOL!

I know there have been a couple more times I have been allowed to do this - but it's never something I automatically expect. That is above-and-beyond Customer Service.

Anyway your question is more about cancelling pending wagers as a betting strategy than quickly correcting a mistake. If you ever find a book that allows that, make sure you let everyone here know - but in all seriousness, it ain't gonna happen.

The Greek will let you if line hasn't moved. But Santo answers your question. If books allowed this, advantage players would make bets they thought were good leads, and if they didn't work out just get rid of them. People could play both sides, etc.

I remember Gamebookers used to let you sell your bet back to them at any time based on odds, but they didn't offer very much to you. 30% less than what the bet was worth or more. Would be cool maybe if some book, let you do the same but only charged say 5%.

I once played a large number of round robins, but made a mistake. Instead of 2-team round robins, they were 9 teamers (or something close to that, can't remember). I had just scrolled down the page to the total number of bets, not realizing that there were two different options. I did notice that the maximum payout was higher than I had expected -like the price of a house-, but didn't really have a problem with that. I only realized my mistake the next morning, still before kickoff, but no longer with exactly the same lines. The book allowed me to cancel. Not a problem at all.

Name of the book? Canbet. No idea why they're not among the A+ books; 107 juice for NFL and NBA, safe country, great CS, great flexibility all around. The Ozzies get it: "No worries, mate".

Pity they have no referral bonus.

This is no joke, isetcap - it's a very serious subject. If any book will regularly cancel wagers then let me know. If they're willing to cancel wagers mid-game then even better.

Same thing here, they will cancel your wager if the line had not moved since the wager was placed. They frown on it, but most of the time they will do it. But thats why they tell you to check your tickets before you leave the window. They dont have to cancel if they dont want to.

As soon as I get about 10 million I want to evenly distribute amongst degenerate cheaters, I'm going to open a book and let players cancel their wagers whenever they want to, even after the outcome.

I have cancelled wagers before. Both times they were right after
I bet them though. It's something I imagine you can do just not
    too much.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Initially, it sounds like a stupid question but many of you have reported that some sportsbooks have allowed you to cancel pending wagers. I think this is good information for people who are relatively new to the forum.

I'm going to have all of that with 5 times rollover requirement, but you can count your cancelled wagers as action! So that I don't have to waste overhead on a line service, I'm going to let players make their own lines.

But, I'm also going to take all the customer service people from CRIS so you can count on having the Worst Service in the Industry.

I've never had a run-in with their customer service (touch wood) but I must confess their supposed 'Live Help', although always polite (to me at least), they don't actually appear to be all that helpful.

FYI every question I've ever asked one of their 'Live Help' team, has always been referred to either a live telephone operator or email.

Their email system was recently studied by accredited scientists and officially declared the first black hole proven to exist in our universe.

LOL, actually Bill finally addressed them on that specific email and then they managed to respond, although it still took them about 24 hours!

So Bill Dozer calls them up and says, "Hey listen, I've got a guy at my forum who keeps ripping you guys because you haven't responded to an email he sent you about a month ago. How about you send him a response so I don't have to lower your rating like I should because your customer service is industry-worst?" (It's likely this is not a direct quote from Bill)

About 20 hours later, they manage to send me a lame excuse about email filtration software which I have worked with in the past (so I know it wasn't the problem), and then somewhat respond to my original email.

Now if I represented a sportsbook, and Bill Dozer called me up about a problem with email, you can be sure I would IMMEDIATELY remedy that problem as opposed to taking 20 hours to send out a lame response.
