    Default Anyone ever read Smart Money by Michael Konik?

    Good Book (True Story) about a professional betting syndicate in Vegas... Has been successfully betting for many many years and taking the books for hundreds of thousands a year...

    Do yall believe more money could be made if you form your own syndicate?

    Yea thats basically what they did... Actually he would take a side, and see if the line would move in his favor, to give him an even better shot at winning the games... The guy he runs for is actually banned frmo the books, this guy actually gets others to make the bets for him now... Impressive..

    Feel like bumping this one. Re-reading it for the 2nd time and have a question for some of the guys who have been around the offshore since the beginning.

    The author refers to a book called "Nautica" frequently. What book is that?

    Yeah I read the book, it was very interesting. Have so many questions on it, curious about some of the figures in the book etc. Interesting to try and find out who is who in real life related to that...

    Well that guy didn't do it on his own, if i remember correctly he was the head guy of a group of about 4? If you get four guys together who know their shit i dont understand why anyone couldn't make that kind of money

    I was nearly positive it was based on him and his crew. Then i remember hearing or reading somewhere later that it was based on their operation.

    If you are familiar with Alan Boston, one of the most well known cbb handicappers around. He was featured in the book "The Odds". He did some conference calls last year, and a couple this year on betting cbb. In a couple of the calls he made reference to Billy Walters, and how their operation works.

    You can find the archives to these calls at SportsConferenceCall.com and BostononBaskets.com, if you are interested in digging though them all for the Billy Walters references.

    Who are you referring to when you say head guy? The author was apart of the brain trust, and then eventually he went off and made his own group and made alot of money doing that before cashing out as well because of the threats risks and stress

    Walters is still doing business. Still moving large amounts of money. I don't think most people have the financial resources and network to move large amounts like Walters does.

    Logically, that would be Cascade.

    Summit = Pinnacle
    Nautica = Cascade

    Book is a good read...He alluded to the fact that NFL teasers were a better play now that results matched up with the lines more and more, but there was no follow up.
