I have been in this horse game Son longer than you, stop forcing bets and just bet your top picks. Secondly stop with that bullshit $30 win, 60 place, it is a bad betting strategy.
Bet win and keep the takeout a little lower.

Frankie I never said I was better than him, horses are impossible and trying to help him save money. He is going broke with horses.
Frankie are you going to front me 5k for the contest? I need the cash by Friday, I will give you 3 names to send to and will give you back 75% if I win.

Yes and he is way too sensitive, solid guy but he needs to not take everything so personal. It is a fukkin forum Nicky.
I am trying to help the kid and make a point that the less races you bet the better chance you have to hold your own.
Nicky know one wants to learn except you and the Polishman Patty Vendiski

I agree with JJ. I was gonna point it out the other day but did not feel like posting. He plays way too many faves and gets buried everytime. He has to hit like 70% winners just to keep even which is impossible in horse racing.

Yes Sir Picantel, in most case scenarios if you like a horse an he is the fav do not bet it, wait until you like a horse and he is like 4-1 or higher. The money is not in favs, a lot of racing is the unexpected. The board is basically what the form says until late money comes in and then it usually is an inside tip whether good or bad.
Watching odds boards is way more effective than reading the form.

The only way to play a fave is if you play maybe 1-2 a week if that and bet them huge and for win only. Of course you make the play if you know something or saw something in the last race. I waited all week for one play tonight which was Miss Erica in the 3rd at northfield. It was my only play of the night and he won at 7/2. Too bad at northfield $20 ruins the pool lol. I waited on a horse last night too and he won but I skipped it cause the ****er went off at 2/5 lol. Ouch no way.

i think the $50 win, $150 place system works really well. yesterday at pimlico it made me a nice return. 12th race i had the #8 Shes All Eltish and she lost a heartbreaker but the place paid $4.40 which was pretty decent so i made $130 instead of losing $50 if i just played to win. Also the 13th race i had #12 movin out and he came in 2nd and the place paid out a whopping $11. so i made $250 on that race because i only bet $20/$60, it was the longshot so i wasn't that confident about the horse.
