As much as I want to say yes, I really dont see the championship material thus far. Were always skating by getting lucky. Yeahhhhhh and Karl Malone being injured lead to the Pistons convincing win in '04. I'm just saying...if there is one team in history that gives the Lakers problems in the Finals, it's the Pistons, injuries or no injuries. I disagree. The Magic were lucky to win one game--and that game is the game Billups busted his groin/hamstring. In the past how many years, how many times have the Magic beat the Pistons in the playoffs? I think the number is one. The Magic are built to be a regular season team and they performed as such. Dwight Howard's offense is non-existent and Jameer Nelson cannot get it done because he's a stocky 5'10. The only guys who get it done at his height are ridiculously quick (see Iverson or, perhaps, even Boykins). Jammmmer is way too slow. If not for his jumpshot (which is very shakey at times), he wouldn't even be in the league. He can barely post-up guys his height because he's so small and slow.

Yes there was a bad call by the refs, and yes, if Billups' three did not count, the game could have changed, but the fact is, even if the three points were taken away, the Pistons still won the game. It was the end of the third quarter, not the fourth. The refs screwed up and everyone knows it -- no sense in chastising the Pistons for making one shot.

Celtics are scary -- I'll give ya that. They have the only guy left in the playoffs who can shut down Rasheed (Garnett) and the only guy left in the playoffs who can effectively shut down Tony Parker (Rondo). If the Celts make it out, chances are they will beat the Pistons, but I think that the Pistons will give them a better run than the Magic, Sixers, or Raps would have. I'll say one thing, though, the Pistons -can- beat the Celts. I don't think they can beat the Cavs. So, as a Pistons fan, I'm totally rooting for the Celts. Pistons simply cannot stop Lebron or the Cavs tall and lengthy frontcourt.

The game ended 100-93 Pistons. I'm not sure which game you're looking at? If the shot did not count, the Magic would have went into the 4th Quarter up 1 point, 76-75, which isn't a huge deal for a veteran team with 12:00 minutes left to play.

The Cavs would not have won if the Pistons had given any effort in the final 4 or 5 games of that series. Rasheed is a cancer to that team. As good of a player as he is, he brings them down with his emotional outbursts. They are a quiet, Joe Dumars type team outside of Rasheed. He quits playing at times when they really need him.

Yeah, I totally agree. They effed themselves last year. I love Rasheed, and I love his passion, but there are times where he's done more to damage rather than to help. That being said, I don't think the Pistons would be nearly as good without him. He's one of the most talented players of his generation but lacks the sheer will to carry his team that a Duncan or a Kobe or a Shaq (as much as I dislike Shaq) have.

After the total annihilation of the Pistons last year by Lebron I felt like Joey D should have blown up the team. It was a fitting end, you know? The Pistons in the late 80s "crowned" Michael Jordan -- Jordan ended their championship runs. Now, the Pistons in the mid 2000s (or however we say it) got beat by Lebron, propelling him to his first finals. As much as I don't like that story, it's at least fitting, in a weird sort of way. The last image I have of the Pistons last year was Rasheed getting ejected (or maybe he was walking out? I can't remember) and him ripping off his headband and throwing it into the stands. It was a pretty emotional moment for Pistons fans everywhere and I felt like, at that point, it needed to end. Joey D had to blow up the team and get a new coach (yes, another one) who would play the youth and build around that. But he didn't -- and the Pistons are more or less in the same position this year and are due for another heart-break. I'd rather "crown" King James and continue on with his legacy as the next "Jordan" than fizzle out and just be another Sacramento Kings team that was good and consistent but never remembered. All the Pistons needed was that second championship (of which Robert Horry brutally stole) to secure their legacy. But they failed. Life goes on.

That man isn't public like Kobe Bryant, so most of you guys don't have an appreciation for what he does, but he's the best defensive PG in the league and makes all the clutch shots.

Tony P and CP are a wash in terms of scoring (though CP has a few more assists and less TOs). Paul will annihilate Fisher, if it comes to that. The Lakers have nobody that can even touch Paul. They'll have to rely on help defense.
