I have no clue as this will be my first one at SBR. From all the talk the past couple months I would of figured the sign up sheet would at least be a couple hundred or more the first day. I am just wondering is it normal to be this low the first day? Just curious...

Lots of people probably lie on here so when it comes to meeting other people from here in person they don't want to because they will be found out to be a fraud.

Bashes usually don't have that many people come anyway. A lot of people have too far to travel, can't get off work etc.

I cannot go mainly because I do not want people to make fun of me and then i do something stupid and end up in jail.

For me its just to early to decide. I would need to burn three vacation days ( which in the summer is only approved one month in advance where I am employed). This event could be lots of fun. It could be very costly also. I'm booked for Vegas in October also. Bottom line / Its just to soon to commit one way or the other.

The money is there for the posters. Lots of it going out, people should take advantage.

i still dont understand where the BASH is supposed to take place considering all those responding are staying in different hotels. Is the actual "Bash" going to be at the Thomas & Mack? or are 100's of people just supposed to meet up on the street somewhere to begin the bash

Update: SBR Forum Bash at the Golden Nugget

Our intention is to provide rooms at the Golden Nugget for the nights of 22 and 23 August 2008 to any SBR Forum posters who have achieved a minimum of 100 posts and have properly registered. SBR will cover the cost of the room and all taxes, however posters will need to leave a CC deposit when they check-in to cover incidental expenses, room service, pay-per-view movies, meals charged to rooms, etc.

It is further our intention to reimburse at least a portion of the travel expenses for our most loyal posters. The first 100 posters who properly register and have achieved 1000 posts or more will be reimbursed up to $300 each for those expenses at the Bash.

On the evening of the 22nd, SBR will host an ice-breaker/reception open to all SBR posters and guests (1 guest per poster, please). This event will feature adult libations, prizes, and entertainment and will afford us all an opportunity to put faces with our favorite forum users.

On the morning of the 23rd, SBR will host a free golf tournament open to all SBR posters with a minimum of 100 posts. SBR will provide green fees and carts to all interested posters who have properly registered. More details will be forthcoming as they are finalized.

On the afternoon of the 23rd, SBR will hold a free poker tournament. While this event is open to all SBR posters with a minimum of 100 posts, only the first 140 to register will be guaranteed a seat. More details will be furnished as we get them, but tentatively the total prize will be $5000 cash.

On the evening of the 23rd, a banquet will be held featuring prizes, a nationally-known comedian(enne), adult beverages and much more. This event will be open to all SBR posters who have achieved a minimum of 100 posts and a guest (1 per poster, please).
