I think some of you guys can, my uncle won 80k last year on football season, went out and brought an BMW 7 series, which is pretty sweet, thats one year worth of bills right there...

NBA playoff been good to me, I'm ahead, got 2 months worth of bills, if I was serious about it, I be doing alright..

I'm sure some could pull it off, but would you really want to do that for the rest of your life?

I asked you in January or February why do books allow a lower max wager on totals in comparison to sides. You said in a video, that it was to reduce their risk against sharps. Then said something like: "The guys betting the over under on Eastern Kentucky/Tennessee Tech are typically doing their homework... I don't want to do my homework"

I just started. I "work 25 week". March +$58000. April +$13000. May +9400. It's been a good feeling having no bills and a new 5 seris BMW. The thing is it can get stressful with 2-3 bad days in a row...But keep on trecking. My opinon is you need at VERY least 50k in the roll to start

I would think $50k is a little low, but $100k as a starting bankroll with $1000 units and a reasonable and moderate lifestyle is definitely possible.

I'll say this...and I rarely talk about this here...I work part time on the "other side" of this industry, and i can assure you all that people can and do in fact make a living gambling. They are all extremely sharp, frequently play the 'contrarian' (non-public) side of things, seize good numbers when they see them, and NEVER chase. They also never bet parlays, but on occasion do use teasers to their advantage.

However...of all the "customers" I've dealt with on a daily basis, let's say 400 total, only about 3 or 4 win consistently and 'make a living gambling.' And in all honesty, only 2 of those guys make enough ($75k+) that would make me quit my 'regular job.' I make too much at my 9-5 job with zero risk to try to hack it as a professional gambler. The other 98% are 'recreational' players who all lose long term, or at least don't make enough to make a living, much like 98% of the people who post on this board. I'm not saying some of you don't win consistently, but I guarantee your unit sizes are not big enough to "make a living." Having a good football season with $100 units and making $10k is less than minimum wage, keep in mind.

I know one guy who has made $50k already during the NBA playoffs betting $4-5k per game and he is as sharp as they come. He lives in Tunica, MS and watches basketball all day every day. For what it's worth, he's on Boston -8.5 and Utah +8.5 tonight.

I could talk about this forever...

The people making a living off of gambling are the ones on the other side of the fence than most people here. Aint that right JRS?

A couple of the guys I know post on therx...for whatever reason they don't post here. I think it's just a matter of therx being in existence longer, combined with the fact that they are very busy people and simply don't have time to post all day, mainly because they're out collecting money. It doesn't take too long to figure out who the 'professionals' are on therx. SBR is much more of a hangout for recreational players. I'd guess a lot of the guys here starting threads every day, tracking their record throughout the year, and acting like they are an SBR 'celebrity,' are playing with a unit size of no more than $200.

majorwager used to have quite a few professional gamblers back in the early days, like 2001-2004.. they had like 15 guys who were one of the sharpest minds.. betting like 15 dimes a game, no joke. these guys were sharper than a razor blade. middlers, scalpers, you name it. alot of pros there back then.. now it's not as sharp as it used to be..

The best way to go is to form a badass syndicate... I've thought about that many times.. helps to talk the games over before making a big bet, getting alot of different opinions from good minds

I bet we know some of the same people. I'm not really at liberty to say, but if you're in Mobile, I'm within 250 miles of you.

^^square's justification for being a lifetime loser.

I've seen guys hit 65% betting 10 football games a weekend for a couple years now. It happens, but you've got to have experience on 'the other side.' Seeing is believing, it definitely was for me. You think people with success like Billy Walters don't still exist? I can assure you they do.

I have been gambling for a living for a long time. It not about picking winners. Its about money management. I pick a ton of winners which helps. But its about the $$$$$$ bet.

It can be done. It's all about your bankroll. If you know your sports and can afford to lay the equivalent of someone's salary on your best plays, angles, mathematical projections, etc., you'll do fine.

I used to think I could, but then the brain trust on this board opined that I couldn't and I knew they couldn't be wrong, so I concluded I must just be lucky and I quit.

I've been gambling for a living and I have no intentions of every going back to my desk job. Gambling for a living does have drawbacks 1) Chance that you could lose it all 2)Girls aren't a fan of gambling 3) Can't get a loan from the bank since you don't have a stable job.
All of those things put together though don't keep me away from doing it.It frees up my time to do whatever I want and I can make alot more doing this then I would sitting at a desk
You guys are all naive if you think there are hardly any people out there that make a living doing this

you can get a loan from the bank if you do it right.
First off get you a DBA, Deposit your winnings after 24 months of good strong depoist, bank will loan you money. Dont set up your personal account there incase you have alot of NSF

Make up a company like Style Ent or Jeff Record Company
