    Default Golf is terrible without Tiger playing.

    Really, it's dismal. Unreal.


    Tiger is the only player that makes or breaks a spectator event. I did not watch any golf at all this weekend.

    It was nice to Sergio Garcia reimerge with a win I was just talking about him with some people around masters time and low and behold he reappears this weekend with a win

    I agree that Tiger brings the game to another level but you can still enjoy watching a tournament without him

    I actually thought this was one of the more interesting Players Championships in recent years, had 3 guys battling it out on 17, 18, had the putt by Goydos that he missed to win the tourney then go to a playoff on the do or die 17 where Goydos found water and Garcia hit it to 5 ft, pretty good show IMO.

    The truth is when Tiger gets in the lead the tourney is almost no watchable it is virtually predetermined that he will win, he is impossibly actually getting better each year... don't ask me why he'd even try to get better as he is already miles ahead of any other golfer living or dead but he is. Check out his stroke avg over last few years:

    2004 69.04
    2005 68.66
    2006 68.11
    2007 67.79
    2008 67.73

    This guy is too good already quite frankly and he is getting better, the good news is 2nd place pays far more than 1st did when Tiger joined the tour (2nd at the Players paid over a million dollars, when Daly won the PGA Championship in 91 it paid only 230k), so all tour players should thank the best golfer in history for lining their pockets even if he does win virtually everytime he tees it up.

    Golf really is lacking in "fun" personalities. Sergio's turned out to be a bit of an ass, the Daly ship has come and gone, even a guy you love to hate like Duval is out of the mix. Els and Vijay are on their way out, Montgomery's been irrelevant for years now, Mickelson has a major so he's much less of a story...

    Meanwhile, the new guys dont seem to be filling their shoes as well. Scott, Goosen, Furyk, Ames etc.. just don't appeal to me.
