Default Meet the new SBR handicapper extraordinaire! SBR welcomes “The Prick”. You can make $

$100 week, every week you can out pick him.

"Hello fellow losers I am The Prick. I have been picking games on different radio shows and publications for years.

The way this works is I'm going to kick your ass every week because I pick winners. If you ever get lucky and beat me then the good ole mafia guys at BetCRIS will slip you a C note. I think they picked me because they know they won’t have to fork over much cash.

Pick college or NFL games I don't really care but don’t be an ass and throw in a total because only straight up side bets count.

I will pick 3 games and designate one pick as my "best pick". Then you pick 3 and also designate one selection as your best pick.

BetCRIS has some other rules to throw up so check back and read the fine print.

My picks will go up every Tuesday. You can post your losers on Wednesday.

    Good Luck (you'll need it)

    Love,

    The Prick

Reminds me of that old skit on Bizarre, where the nurse and patient are in the hospital room, and you hear the patient screaming in agony. Then the doctor runs in, examines the situation, and says "Nurse, I told you to Prick His Boil."

Would I be correct saying that the odds are that more than half of the posters who enter each week should get 100 bucks? Free money sounds cool

I don't think so. If you look at his choice of words, you have to beat him to win. A tie would be a no-go. Since it's only 3 picks a week, you can guarantee a pretty good number of ties (and then the non-ties would be distributed more-or-less 50-50 between wins-losses depending on how good he is). That should translate to significantly less than 50% wins for challengers over the year.

I'm not sure what the "best pick" angle will be as far as grading the contest. That could also toughen things up for challengers. I don't know.

I'm guessing this prick isn't just flipping a coin for his picks. Maybe he's got skillz. Maybe he has some decent angles. Maybe he'll provide coat-tail material? Who knows?

    Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining - I'm just analyzing.

    This sounds great!

I forgot about the push. Good point. I was thinking about the ability to hit stale numbers. Unless The Prick goes 3 for 3 every week there is going to be some cash given away.

I like this prick guy. I dont have to show good sportsmanship. Whether i win or lose i will tell him to kiss my ass each week.:105084828

Isn't that to be used as some sort of tie breaker? say he goes 2-1 and you go 2-1 but he hit his best pick and you didn't. Would that translate as a tie or a loss?

If he goes 2-1 and hits his best pick he would have 2 points. If you go 2-1 and miss your best pick you would only have 0 points. Best picks are +2 for a win and -2 for a loss.

I guess this answers my question of which my other sportsbook will be for the year. Going to go with CRIS and Betwwts. I surely can beat the prick once this year for an easy $100. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in awhile

I listened to him on WQAM in Miami one year. He hated Miami teams or maybe that was part of the shtick, either way it was really funny. He had a better record than Hank Goldberg "The Hammer" that year and was a riot to listen to. Hopefully we will have audio of The Prick later in the year.

That's because the person who is doing the shtick now was not employed back then.
