looking at the game a bit more you see that mcann absolutely annihilates snell while this roster bats over .320 against him as a whole. escobar is 3 for 3 while chipper, diaz, and kelly johnson have all had success in their matchups with the righty.

Glavines biggest problem with pitt has been his inablity to get out jason bay who has 2 HR in 19 Abs while batting .368 against him. Laroche, sanchez, and nady have each had more than a little success against the future HOF SP.


Each of these starters has been giving up over 23% LDs on the season which is an awful rate and fairly meaningful even this early in the season.

It seems like an obvious pick, but snell is capable of pitching a good game just like Lilly did today. Pirates are hitting the ball.

snell is a borderline #1 starter...id take him over lilly, but hes been getting hit hard to start. when snell is able to keep the ball down consistently, he can be tough to get extra base hits off of.
