Greek Just An Average Book Now
25 books now just as good, volume way down from past years
Site exactly the same
Marketing ploy to try and get players from leaving, Greek has suffered a huge drop in volume the last 2 years to Pinnacle and other books that are just like Greek now.
The web pages are slow as shit and the software is very outdated
Spiro fell way behind the competition

the thing i liked about the greek. they offer series prices in bases all the time, the problem i have with that is they have a $500 limit, and used a 20 cent line on those types of wagers.

Some of JJ's evaluation I suspect stumbles on some truth. They have not enjoyed the recent growth of a BoDog or VIP. Their specialty is the higher dollar player and that segement has not grown nearly as fast as the small player market.
Oly is still a titan among titans and completely worthy of their 4th spot on the SBR Recommended List an a A+ rating.

Olympic has been a top 5 book for a long time. That hasn't changed.

I have a small account with Olympic. I agree with JJ about how
the software is awful. It looks like 1996 still as well..

IMG, i don't care how cheap a site might look. as long as they pay thats all that really matters to me, and the greek pays promptly !!

I agree with most of what JJ wrote but thegreek is still a must have for motor racing and a good out for US citizens that bet on international sporting events.

True.
It's also a must have for moneylines on all sports and for my beloved MLB alternate runlines.

Stuff the site, who cares how many blinking sparkly lights it has. The greek is a true bookmaker, deals his own lines and is nice and early in doing so. Not like some of the vaniila copycats that wait and see what he does before opening their market. Love the greek! However I notice JJ forgot to include BetJamaica in his calculations.

I am starting to have no use for Bet Jamaica. They offer nothing
no one else does. I give Bet Jamaica a B-

Bet Jamaica offered dime lines last season for bases. plus odds are they will offer a nice re-up bonus as well. So, you might not want to write off them just yet IMG.

Jamaica is way better and quicker moving software
Greek lines pages takes forever to load, it is so outdated its not even funny.
The big player market has significantly declined also and still most big players are betting into local books and huge creidt facilities.
Ticket numbers are way down at Greek

Wrong.
They may not be growing at the rate of these marketing gurus, but they have a great retention rate and still attract new players on Spiro's reputation and solid SEO.
They are not hurting for volume. Even if they just maintain what they have (which they have done), they are one of the largest out there.

I can't even figure out why we're talking about numbers of tickets. As a player, I want a book with options, useful lines, useful limits and a good long history of reliable payouts. If those things are in place, I don't really care if I'm the only customer.
For those dimensions, Greek is a top book.
But regardless, their volume is just fine.
As for the website, it could be better but I seem to get my bets in. If I was to walk away because of the website performance, I would just be punishing myself.
It would be very nice to see them return to dime lines for MLB sides though. No question.

The number of props the offer is still more than most and about half the books out there end up copying what they put out.

Facts....many many books now are just like The Greek, of course they are still good but lots more to choose from. Other than Pinnacle you would have a hard time ranking the top 25 books as many can be number 2. Pinnacle is just so far ahead of anyone its unreal.
Greek lines are real generic, web betting is horrible, way to slow to load lines pages. Lots of places now have 2nd half lines up real early and lots of places have qtr lines, ect.
Whole point is there are lots of Greeks now which is good.

I've never had a problem with them and I think they're software is just fine. They are 4th for me in action I've given sportsbooks for 2006 out of about a dozen books.

Thegreek is nr.2 for me. And they have nr.1 CS: they do not write BS: "dear, best regards, good luck" etc. Just a single sentence and the sentence is usually "we can do it". I like their policy of 30min cancelling bets if the line does not move. Actually one poster of sazkar.net got cancelled bet placed by mistake ALTHOUGH the line moved!!! Who else does this? And the same man had some problems with baseball rules and graded bet...personally I think that thegreek could stand on their decision, because the rules were not clear, but they took responsibility and graded the bet in bettors favor.
Unfortunatelly I do not like Betjam and itīs new delay while placing bets.

I'm fairly unimpressed with The Greek's offering, but I don't have much negative to say about it beyond the fact that their interface is simply painful.

If Greek is so big and works with big players so much, how come online their limits on MLB are so small - 1K on totals, 1K on runlines, 2K on moneylines. Is it because they want their big players to call in to place their wagers, and when you do how big do they play?
