Default Most hilarious thing you see in a casino, old people all slapping keno machines.

Anyone notice when you go to a casino you see banks of keno machines occupied by old people all slapping them on the sides thinking that makes them pay out more. It's like they are jockeys giving the whip to the horse down the home stretch urging the machine on.I know as kids we used to slap pinball machines a bit and from experience I recall most of the time it resulted in tilts or broken glass.

I know a few ancient people that play keno and it's hilarious hearing their opinions on how the casino controls the payout on keno machines. They have it in their head that the casino dictates when and to who the machine picks winning keno numbers for.I try telling them that the casinos don't have to worry about that stuff because the takeout is built into the machines pay table odds.Sure, the casino might do worse on the keno machines for a stretch of time over a week or so paying jackpots in excess of normal but in the course of a year they make the exact percentage for themselves that the odds dictate.

Anyone ever hear of this code breaker rain man math genius in Montreal who could see patterns forming on keno machines where he won a ton of money and was banned from all the Quebec casinos.

there is a show on history channel....one of the breaking vegas series. one computer genius works for the nevada gaming control board figure out how the pseudo random numbers are generated for keno. so he asked for his black buddy from caymen islands to go to the new casino in atlanta city i think. his buddy won like 4 million dollars based on the numbers he crunched out. but the whole scheme is foiled because his buddy has two IDs, one for US and one for caymen island...and his buddy also put his name in the hotel registry, which is an automatic red flag for the casino.

i think both of them are in jail now.

I grew up in northern NJ and spent quite a bit of time over in Paterson where a lot of illegal keno machines existed. It was exactly the same thing. Numbers start popping up for someone and they start banging the machine hoping more will come out. They even had to put signs up saying "No banging the machines" but everyone would just ignore it and do it.

I played lots of video keno in my time in vegas, I've hit several 7 spots, even on a nickel machine that's worth over $1500 with 4 coins in. I swear, I hit enough of those 7 spots to be up overall, despite it being a game with over 20% vig. So I spent a good deal of time next to these people who bang (I just possibly, possibly, possibly, may have done it once or twice myself), but that's pretty uncommon. What's more common is when they tap a number continuously on the screen with their finger, or a coin, incessantly! And every video keno player smokes, with the vents always blowing the smoke in my face. I hate the video keno set-up, but the game itself, I do enjoy.

That sheit pisses me off to no end. They also have their cig in the hand the direction the air is blowing. So it is not blowing across their face. I should carry a big nasty smelling cigar for just those times.

You would know more than me about it, capitalist pig. My avatar was designed by someone else - the legendary Andrew from EOG.
