Thumbs down Teacher in Fla loses his job because of Wizardry

LAND 'O LAKES, Fla. -- A substitute teacher in Pasco County has lost his job after being accused of wizardry.

Teacher Jim Piculas does a magic trick where a toothpick disappears and then reappears.

Piculas recently did the 30-second trick in front of a classroom at Rushe Middle School in Land 'O Lakes.

Piculas said he then got a call from the supervisor of teachers, saying he'd been accused of wizardry.

"I get a call the middle of the day from head of supervisor of substitute teachers. He says, 'Jim, we have a huge issue, you can't take any more assignments you need to come in right away,'" he said.

Piculas said he did not know f any other accusations that would have led to the action.

The teacher said he is concerned that the incident may prevent him from getting future jobs.

What a load. Another over reaction story from the land of freaky stories. At first I thought this would have to have been in the back woods areas of Florida like next to lake Okeechobee, but after checking the map, it is a suburb of Tampa.

I can't believe this dude is getting canned, he will have a nice lawsuit for himself. Its not like he was playing find the salami in my pants with the kids.

Women teachers in Florida do magic acts for something else on young male students to dissapear and reappear and they get in less trouble.

We are dealing with public education here folks, the whole education system has been diseased from top to bottom for a century or more so why should this incident surprise us.

My famous buzz words, socialists and socialism apply here.hehe!

A side note to this.In Minnesota the pledge of allegiance debate is rearing it's ugly head again. As a republican years ago I always thought along the lines of the pledge being an honorable thing for kids to recite. That was until about about 15 years ago when someone told me that the pledge was written by a devout socialist named Francis Bellamy who was an FDR type Keynesian socialist fascist that wanted government control over everything in a persons life. The pledge is one that you are vowing to be subservient to all forms of government that rule over you.
