SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Police say they have discovered 300 dead cats stuffed into freezers at a man's Sacramento home.

Animal control officers also removed 30 live cats from 47-year-old Michael Louis Vondueren's home over the weekend.

Vondueren was arrested on suspicion of possessing an automatic weapon and obstructing police officers. Animal control officers also are considering issuing citations.

Authorities say three freezers were crammed with dead cats and the house was littered with cat feces. Police say Vondueren's 81-year-old mother also was living at the house.

This guy sounds like a scum bag, but just to be sure, was he running as cat shelter? My wife is a director of a shelter and I have to say that once a year, I'm put on dead cat duty. This means that I get to take all of the cats that died that year and are frozen in the frig to the crematorium when they donate some "fry" time for nothing. Each year it averages about 100 cats or so. The article also said the place had feces smell around which means this guy got out of control. How can anyone live with a lump or lumps of smelly shit laying around?

Sad for the cats, but justice will be served here if the weapon is truly a full auto, the full auto charge will bring a mandatory 5 years in a Fed prison. More if its proven he changed it from a semi auto to full auto, then it will bring another madatory charge of manufacturing a full auto weapon.
