    Default I quit gambling

I am quitting gambling for now. It takes up too much of my time and I have officially just lost the passion for it. I love sports and will still spend time posting here and there but gambling just isnt for me anymore. I will still gamble from time to time but I honestly cant say when the next time I will place a bet.

How many posts do I have to get to before I can start busting JJs balls? Nothing worse than Newbies running their pie holes but....Here goes:

Back in a month? Didn't I read you went to a GA meeting a little bit ago? Was it less than a month?

1 month????????????? i give this kid 2 days. it's like saying i quit eating food for life because i'm too fat. how many times have you heard a fat lady say after she is full after a buffet that she's had it, as of tomorrow, no more sweets or fattening things. then the next day, she's stuffing her face in cake..

if i had 10 cents for every time i said, i quit gambling, i'd be richer than donald trump.. nobody can quit, folks. the only people that quit gambling are the people who have no more money and are broke.. then they have no choice but to quit.. and even them, once they have some money again, it's back to gambling.

Wrong. You can't quit because you don't have the willpower to do so. I withdrew all my money from my books over a year ago and I haven't made a bet since. I also got tired of spending hours in front of the computer doing research and placing bets.

Will I ever bet again? Maybe. I might do so for the upcoming NFL season, who knows.

odds you have a bet within 2 weeks -450, after you get rejected by a girl you will again jump into gambling head first to mask your pain.

    texas fan,

sure you can quit for a few months, or even a year, but eventually, they allllllllllllllllllll come back.. it's a disease my friend. even you just said you might come back for NFL.. so what do you think that means?? you're no different than anybody else. you see, gambling is like cigarettes. how many people you know have quit smoking and they say they've quit for life. then you see them 2 yrs after, or 6 yrs after, and they are smoking again? i too have quit for 4 months and said i would never bet again, and then, you go on a date, and it goes bad, you're depressed, you feel like shit, and bammmmmmmmmmmmmmm you're getting the lines to place your bets.

Burn out happens to everyone. It happened to me last year after hot streak, I took a couple weeks off to let it be fun again.

great point, guitar boy.. a few yrs ago, i took the summer off because i was so drained.. never in my life did i feel so laid back and relaxed. i was calm as hell. i am usually hyper and i talk very fast. people were saying to me, are you on some kind of meds? you seem so calm. i really was, and it was the best summer of my life. life was beautiful. but there was something missing in my life.. i felt empty.. and then, let me say this, boy, did i look forward to the end of summer when NFL started.. i was back at what i love best.. back behind my desk watching games and getting high. it was greaaaaaaaaaaaaat to be back.. the break did bring back the fun in gambling again because i was really worn out from looking at a screen everyday for 12 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

I quit smoking at age 25 and I am now 41. I don't think about smoking nor do I ever want to smoke, even when drinking. If I do bet agin it won't be because I have to though. I really could care less about it anymore.

I still play poker though and go to casinos so in a way I'm still gambling. I just have no desire to fund a book and bet anymore. I really don't miss it at all.

aaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaaaaaa, so there you have it my boy.. you don't bet offshore on sports, but you play poker, you go to casino.. texy, i have news for you kiddo, YOU'RE STILL GAMBLING...just that you are getting your fix in a different way. i knew you didn't quit for good, you just went a different way..

hey guess what, texy, i quit crack cocaine, but i am taking meth, speed and acid.. hey, but i quit crack for good, you see, i told you i could quit..

Yea, I'm still gambling Nicky. Last time I stepped foot in a casino was in Vegas in July of 2007. No bets offshore in over a year. No accounts funded. Played poker about twice this year. All this gambling is killing me.

whether it's 2 times a year or 500 times a year, it's still gambling, texy.. i know alcoholics who say they've quit, and then i see them in a bar having a beer and they then tell me, well, it's only 1 beer. so they never really quit.. they're still drinking.. how about people that smoke 3 or 4 cigarettes a day, and say they quit.. they did NOT quit.. they still smoke.. quitting is for good, not occasional.
