John Smoltz. The guy is a great pitcher and a good guy.

A good guy who thinks he's entitled to make decisions for the team without consulting his manager, pitching coach, GM, etc. He just decides to inform the media that he is switching from the rotation to the bullpen.

Smoltz is a dumb last name.

Speaking of Chase Utley.... where would the Phillies be without him this year? Rollins out, Victorino has been out, Howard is fat and sucks, Burrell has been good, but Utley has single handedly taken this team to first place. I would say Philadelphia would have 6-8 less wins without that sunofabitch Utley.

Utley is the heart and soul of the Phillies.. I think when his career is over he's going to have some big time numbers and is still improving.. I like his style

The name is not as dumb as Tupac. He has played 25 years for the Braves and he knows the team better than the managers. He also knows his body better than anyone.

He has vastly improved his defense.
    Hell of a hitter, too.
Too bad his name is Chase.

Any way you slice it, if he lost as many as he won, he wasn't the most dominant player that ever lived.

I'd argue that Ryan isn't in the top 20 greatest pitchers of all time.
He was, however, the top THROWER of all time.
