Default Take 150K or the chance at 1 Million?

If someone said they would give you 150K and walk away, or you had to win your POD (no more than a -110 fav) and you would be given 1 million$, you get nothing if you lose, what do you choose?

i'd bet the game to win 1 million.. then i'd call my locals and get off 500 dimes on the oposiite side and guarantee myself half a million bucks..much better than 150k..

Well the $1M has such a higher expected value. But, itd be damn hard to turn down the 150k. That'd be enough to set me up for life on its own.

you would lose to your Locals and get stiffed on the 150/million bet , then you would have to go hide in NJ with JJGold

Take the $150K to a roulette wheel, bet on 23. Walk away with 5 mill or more.

150k would set you up for life?

I'd go for the mil. I'd be very selective, and have a consultation with every sharp I knew in that respective sport about the game I selected. I would not tell them who I picked, and would offer every one of them 10,000 if they got it right.

    Expected growth>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>expected value.

I would take the 150k just because I feel I could make more with it long term and it would take to long to rebuild from nothing back up to 150k... on the other hand if my roll was less then say 20-30k I would bet the whole thing on a 10-1 anyday, (or whatever) if the the true odds were 1-1... I feel that the time to rebuild from nothing to that amount would be fairly insigificant compared to EV I would be giving up passing on the bet...

I think I could do it.

Then again, I live in Wisconsin and not NYC.
