Default What are everyone's plans for the Kentucky Derby?

What are everyone's plans? Going to any parties? Watching it at home or at the track? Just breaking out the Jim Beam alone?

An ex gf of mine is actually going and so it one of my best friends. Ive been to the preakness, but never either of the other big ones. I plan on taking some advice from the articles, seeing what you, oscar and some others have on it, and making a couple small plays. what time does the thing start? i work till noon or so tomorrow and i will need to learn how to gamble on horses sometime before the race.

i'll be hittin' a few, my aunt always has one, so i always stop by for a few, then a friend of a friend has had one for years, i usually stop by there and shoot-the-shit for a little bit, i used to play softball with alot of the people that go there, and i always stop by this wannabe bookie's party, its a big event, kegs, gigantic sub sandwiches, port-a-potties, fights, police usually make a presence, its all good.

you'll be a winner then tomorrow, everytime i have ever been to the track and someone brings a friend or a GF that doesn't know crap about horses, they win. just pick a horse cause you like its name ,the colors it has on, and you'll probably get lucky, seems to happen alot in my experience.

Indeed happens a lot - I have been through numerous female friends who have picked their share of winners based on nothing but a hunch.

Going to the OT. My seat is reserved. For $35 I get buffet, seat with a monitor, admission, parking, racing form, and program.

I like when places have deals like that.

You are almost better staying home and watching it. As long as you have a book that will pay track odds. I'm sorry, but the track/OTB is a place you want to avoid on derby day. It is a mad house and is not worth the frustration.

I'll go to River Downs early and get my Derby bets in. Watch a couple live races then come home...probably just grill steaks.

no reason to go to the track with the race being on tv... got to many others to this time of the year...

It is the most well known horse race and attracts a lot of interest from people who don't normally follow the sport.
Tommorrow I am forced to go to OTB because I don't have an account that handles the Churchhill card. I have accounts with xpressbet , youbet and TVG but can't get down on anything more than the Derby through xpressbet. Thats messed up. I'll make some small plays at OTB than watch espn2 for the races on the early part of the card. There is a derby party I can go to but its to far of a drive.

I'm waiting for Hank Webber's pick and what kind of spread he is going to have at his Derby party.
