Default I'm calling the NBA Championship: (sadly) I'm calling the ...

Detroit Pistons the Champions for the 2005-2006 season. These guys are not even breaking a sweat these days. That +157 at Pinny for them to win it all looks better every day.

Did you just hit it John? Its currently at +149. Which is still a nice price for how great they are playing. It will be hard for any team in the NBA to beat this team in a best of 7.

The Pistons aren't that good they are just trying too hard for the regular season, they have a very remote chance of beating the Spurs if both teams are at full strength

That is a really good point because in a 7 game series they really cannot lose. As they get closer and closer to locking up homecourt throughout the playoffs the odds will only get better.

Not like the odds of Brokeback Mountain winning best picture at the Academy, but pretty damn good.

I have the NBA League Pass. By far and away the best team. They work so well together. As John said, hardly breaking a sweat.

The thing about the Colts is they had a choke artist for a leader and that team has not been to the SuperBowl. The Pistons are not choke artists, they have 5 leaders on the team, and this team has been to and won the NBA Finals. Barring a freak injury they will bring home the money.

I'm telling ya guys Phoenix Suns +301 to WIN the West is a great value. When they get healthy they will be a terror. Yes Dallas and SA are for real with shorter odds but the Suns can beat either one or both.

If they dont get a big man back before the playoffs, they will have a hard time matching up with the Mavericks and Spurs. I think Amare is suppost to be back by the playoffs, but how good will he be? Im sure he wont be in game shape.

But +301 is a good value bet.

interesting to see if anyone can remember what he thought about that prospect last year?
i thought they could, and they were nowhere near beating SA.

The Colts were an offensive finesse team and it was fairly easy to see that they would be exposed.

Detroit is a ferocious defensive team with one of the best offenses in the league and a steal-your-spirit approach to the game. They are much better than last year, while San Antonio is not as good. Barring injury they are absolutely the best team in the league come playoffs.

San Antonio is alot better than last year, Tony Parker has improved, and they added Finley and Van Exel, plus Tim Duncan was played badly injured in the finals, and likely will be healthier this years finals, and every day that goes buy the Wallaces' just keep getting older, they will be too old by June hopefully

The Spurs do not match up very well against Detroits brutal defense. Parker cant get his points in the paint and Duncan can not carry the load with Detroits stout interior defense. Now SA can darn sure shoot but you have to favor Detroit if they meet again.

Its only great value if Pho reaches the conference finals and they are not facing the Spurs.

I guess I'm just saying when the Suns have their big guy healthy they are equal or a little better than the Spurs imo. With that logic the +301 makes sense plus, the only 3 teams that are going to win the West are SA PHx or Dallas.

In November after the Pistons beat the Spurs for the 2nd time on the season (I think), I took them the very next day on 5 dimes at +250. Just a small value bet for me so even if it loses, not a biggie. I do like their chances however.

Call me a "homer" or whatever you'd like...but the best value on the board is

Clippers at +2858 to win the West

These guys are going to be tough to beat when they get Maggette and his 22 points a game back. They have played through injuries all season and have yet to have everyone playing together.

The addition of Radmanovich makes them deadly offensively when Maggette gets back.

C- Kaman (the key to this team)
    PF- Brand (MVP season)
    SF- Maggette
    SG- Mobley
    PG- Cassell
    6th- Radmanovich
    7th- Livingston
8th- Rebraca (another great offensive player on injured list all season)

This team could make some noise. They are currently 4th but they will get the 5th seed unless they win their division.

When they get to full strengh, no one will want to play them.

They are not as good as the Spurs or the Mavericks, but at +2858, I'll take a shot.

Hey give the SBR posters some of that money if you like to throw it around like that. There is no way in hell that they will even go past the first round and you think they are going to win the West? Who knows if they even make the playoffs with their type of history. They are currently in 7 psotion in the playoffs mostly likely face San ANtonio or Dallas. Just the odds are not good at all for them.

The West is tough, well at least at the top. This last full month tends to seperate the men from the boys. SA plays the Suns and Dal a couple more times. The battle for top seed is headed down the backstretch!

Clip Joint, you know what happens when a team has not been in the playoffs for a long time. They get smoked in the playoffs.

Why take the Clips now at 2858, when you'll get better odds rolling it over when they face Dallas in the 1st rd, the Spurs in the 2nd rd, and the Suns in the finals?

I think the odds will get worse before they get better. They are playing without 22 ppg from Maggette. When they get him back, they very well could go on a run.

Not many teams can go without a 22 ppg scorer and do as well as this team. This team will be tough to beat come playoff time.

Are you watching the same NBA as the rest of us? They are currently a 5 seed even though they have the 4th best record.

Rest of us? Clips win the west? Whos the rest of us that agrees with you? It has been three days since I wrote that it seems Memphis and New Orleans has lost or haven't played as much. Never the less spread your wealth my friend if you plan to pick the Clips to win the West.

The Clippers would be the 2nd best team if they were in the East, ok, the 3rd best. But in the West they will struggle just to win a game against the West's Big 3. Although one never knows. They could click and catch a team sleeping like Denver did that one year.
