To the SBR Staff and posters I know this is not the type of thing that is normally posted here but it is an out let for me. Fell free to delete, read, respond, or just tell ,me not to do it but I need to get this off my chest.
On Friday 5-02-08 at 2 P.M. Central time we will bury a 15 your old child here in the small town of Texas were I live (POP under 2000) I know that this type of thing happens everyday every place but this one struck close to home. For some unknown reason this young lady felt it was necessary to leave this earth and shot and killed her self. To our family it was just not some kid she that lived here she was a track runner,B-ball player, in the Drama club and this year was named along with my daughter as varsity Drill team memember.
She was the captain of my girls squad. And my nephews step sons girlfriend I want to ask of you is not only of prayers for her and here family but I have a
FAVOR of each and everyone of you . Most of the time in this life style of ours all that matters is line,odds who won by how much and how much am I up or down. Not what is really important and that is family But I know most of , if not all of us have someone in our lives that means the world to us. So sometime today grab that child or wife,husband or family member and tell them YOU LOVE THEM it may be the last time you ever get to. I know we can no longer say this to R.F of Whitewright Texas.

I agree with that imgv...extremely unfair how things work sometimes. One of my best buds was in Iraq/Afgan for a couple of years in the Army. He finally finished his term and was back home for 38 days before he died when my other bud swerved to miss a deer and flipped the SUV on it's roof going about 60 mph but yet I rolled my mustang at 110 drunk as hell and was able to walk away with just a single cut. Just seems so unfair for his family and friends.

Yeah I ran out of gas on the side of the interstate about a year before that and got out to loosen the gas cap on the side of the road since I was about half a mile from the exit to the gas station...just trying to see if I could get enough fuel to drop down to get me there. Right after I got the cap off I hear a noise that sounded like a semi horn so dove back into the car just as some asswipe in his pickup hit the rear corner of the car and down the side...he took the door off right after I dove in the car. Scared the Shit out of me.

The only thing I got out of it was a small puncture on my right foot and a 3 inch gash in my right thigh where the e-brake handle ripped my leg open when I was thrown to the passenger side from the last barrel roll.

Yeah that feeling of being out of control on the ice sucks bad...tons of people go through that here since a lot of them come from Texas and Arizona. Definitely teaches safer driving though.

Thats about as bad as it gets. I'm terribly sorry for the loss that your community has suffered. Man, I think we've all had close calls and lost people close to us. What's important is that we're not alone. So sad about that girl. Teen years are tough and suicide may be the most painful way to lose a child. I feel for her parents and everyone around her that must be thinking "I should have known and helped her." Gah...I don't even know what else to say. I'm sorry for all of your losses.

Thanks for sharing this with us. Sometimes we all need a little reminder of how fragile life is and we should not ever take anything for granted.

I will pray a special prayer for her family and for you and your community as well.

I also live in a small town, and my former coach, who was now the principal just died a few months ago. He was 45 yrs old and had a daughter thats a Sr at the High School where he was the principal.

He was seriously LOVED by every person who ever met him and knew the names of almost all 1500 kids in the High School. He was a go-getter and was at every function in the whole district, it seemed.

He died while working out on an elliptical on his daughter's birthday! It was a sad time for the community. My family owns the local funeral home and we conducted the services for him. It was so sad but I was happy to be there for his distraught family during this time.

I'm gonna run, I don't want to hijack this thread because the message of Junkman is SO REAL. I am going to tell my fiance how much she means to me.

Sad news. I had a friend that jumped off a building and died leaving a wife and two kids alone. I still don't understand it.

Always live your life like is your last day on earth and hug and kiss your kids every day.
