Default Red Wings are an unstoppable force.

No one can stop them. I can't wait for Pitt vs. Wings finals.

    they will crush the penguins

the gap is too huge, and pens will not know what hit them after they polish off Habs/Flyers in 5

I am posting from a-top the pepsi center. Chelios is a scratch because of his knee again. He effed it up back in Chicago at the end of the regular season, it was tweaked last game. Just a precaution is all.

wow, you guys are really jumping here.. this is hilarious... first of all, pit has not won the series yet.. secondly, why you guys eliminating the fact that philly is so pumped right now, and are playing some great hockey and they can easily beat PIT.. if PIT wins vs NYR (not over yet) philly just beat the best team in NHL the last 3 months in washington, and the best team in the east in mtl.. also, what makes you so sure DET will beat DAL.. DAL is playing some great hockey now.. still a very very long way to go before DET VS PIT..

this is the NHL playoffs. not NBA.. tons of upsets.. regular season means squat.. anything can happen.

mtl is a shit team. philly struggled/struggling vs them.

Doesn't matter who represents the East, Detroit/Dallas will eat them alive. I took Detroit/Dallas from the start. Sharks choke every phucking year. Crosby is a little turdface, look at his peach fuzz beard. Have no clue how people compare him to Ovechkin

I don't think the Flyers can skate with the Penguins. The Flyers forwards are alright, but their defense is big and slow. The Penguins could easily exploit this. Biron is mediocre, and will not continue to play this well. Lets no overrate Washington, they won a horrible division, and it was their first time in the playoffs as a team. The Red Wings and the Penguins are probably the best skating teams left in the playoffs. And speed/skill combination is what wins.

biron mediocre???.. have you been watching the habs/flyers series?? i've seen every sec of that series and the reason why the flyers are up 3-1 is because biron has been doing a great bernie parent imitation. in fact, they are comparing him to parent. this guy has been stellar between the pipes.

and the flyers are a big tough strong checking team. they can play tight with the pens and keep the games close. who knows what can happen. don't ever count the flyers out. they can surprise alot of people.. not predicting they'll win, but you just never know in NHL playoffs.

I'm not saying he is playing mediocre right now, but he is not a top 10 goaltender in the league, and is in fact mediocre.

He has been lucky thus far. Washington and Montreal are sub par teams. Wait till he sees Pitt.

how is mtl and wash sub par teams? they had a better record than pit in regular season.. they were best in the east. and mtl and wash were the top 2 teams in the NHL in the last 3 months.. they hardly lost.. the 2 hottest teams beaten by Philly.. i've seen a lot of avg goalies turn on the jets in post season and win the conn smythe. alot of avg goalies get hot in post season and this year, it could be biron..

and do you think marc andre fleury is a great goalie?? no way.

Fleury has a pedigree, he is a number one pick, and has the ability to elevate his game higher than Biron does. Biron is mediocre, mediocre goaltenders don't win Stanley Cups. The Caps were hot, but they won a bad division, and it was their first time in the playoffs as a team. Mtl is quick, skilled but they are not tough at all. I think the Flyer's game, i.e. intimidation, physical play gets to teams that do not play them very often. I don't think their play would get to the Penguins. I think the Flyer's big slow defense men, ie Jason Smith, Hatcher, Coburn, Jones would have a problem matching up with the speed the Penguin's forwards have. And the Flyer's propensity for taking bad penalties would be capitalized upon.

Washington was 3rd best in East.. and only because they won their division.

Biron will need to be super hot to get Flyers into finals

don't you understand that nhl playoffs is a totally different season.. reg season means squat.. mtl were 8-0 vs bos in reg season and should have lost that series. they were totally outplayed. mtl were 4-0 vs flyers this season, look now.. remember edm 2 yrs ago when they made the playoffs on the final day and went to game 7 of the stanley cup final and lost 2-1.. look how close they came that year. roloson for edmy was a mediocre goalie and he was the reason they went so far. he was so good.

look at hasek now, look at theodore. 2 top 5 goalies and both are useless this post season.. look how many times the wings had the best record in reg season and would lose 1st round to a .500 team. this happens all the time in the nhl.

playoffs is a new season, boys.. no such thing as this team is better than this team. even det is no lock. they can easily fall flat next round and lose to DAL.

    welcome to the nhl playoffs

Theodore has been crap for years now. Hasek always chokes in playoffs. Thats why I went with teams that have been there before. ie. Detroit/Dallas. All the Eastern players are new, however, so it's fairly up in the air.

And now you say playoffs is an entirely different season and reg. season doesn't mean shit?

Btw, Bruins only outplayed Habs in the games they won. First two games were solid wins from Habs, though not as big blowouts as the ones during regular season.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas beat Detroit. I'm not sold on Osgood for the long haul. And even though the Flyers are up 3-1 they were outplayed badly in 2 of their wins. So they are lucky to be up 3-1, but now that Carbonneau has ruined his team by starting Halak, the Habs have no shot. I would be surprised if the Flyers beat the Penguins. Pens/Wings would be an intriguing matchup, my heart says Pens, but my head says Wings.

canadiens were lucky to win game 1, their only win.. they were lucky because that idiot ref don van massenhoven called a penalty for kneeing with 1 min to go.. the only problem is, it was a phantom call. no knee was in the picture, it was a clean check. kovy then tied it with seconds left and won in OT. their only win.. habs have no goaltending experience.. price and halak are kids.. their nerves is getting the better of them. tough to play in montreal.. it's crazy there. too much pressure for the kids. philly should have swept 4-0 over habs and bos outplayed mtl and even don cherry said bos should have won 4-2 in the series.

The Habs were lucky to win game 1, but the Flyers were lucky to win game 2 and 3. I had no problem with the call on Richards, it looked like a knee. Their young goaltenders could have played great, or they could have failed, and they failed. I don't think the Flyers have an advantage in any area over the Penguins. And the Penguins have plenty of advantages against the Flyers.
