    Default Bodog

Why is this not an A rated book? Great customer service and never had a problem with any withdrawal. Site also looks great.

The 15-20 business days for a check is not a plus, but the soft lines (even the "sharp" ones) are.

how this book is not rated a B or a C I dont know.

Its a recreational book that I wouldnt really count on my money the next week or pehaps the same month.

If your gonna gamble offshore , play elsewere .

Leave the flashy site world and go to the greek , or DSI for instance.

CS is just as good or even better and the limits are quite nice.

If they are a rec book or not does not enter into their rating... I don't typically use their
sportsbook but I do keep a little money there to play poker once in awhile and have no doubts my money is safe...

Played there for years but about this time last year the payouts got too bad.

Deposit by *************** had a 21 day business hold and payout was 20-30 business day wait. So you could deposit and have to wait 8 to 10 weeks to cash out.

Was not worth it after that. Before that you could have money in your bank account next day if requested before 9:00 am but those days are over.

I think the real problem at Bodog is that they are just too big not to have other cashout options besides ** and checks... There are just so many of these that you can send out a day and still stay under the radar... In the neteller days they were basically one of the fastest to pay...

My basic rule is just keep what I need with them and no more then I can't wait awhile for a cashout on... If I bust out what little I have there then I can always send in a ** the next day as they pick up the fees... But then again this is pretty much what I do at everywhere I play now...

Anyhow, my above point was that everytime anyone brings up Bodog someone is quick to say "oh, they are a rec book therefore they shouldn't be a A or B book"... SBR isn't only for "sharp" bettors (hell, the site wouldn't be probably be here if more losing players didn't click through on the links then winning players)... Obviously most of the players here (regardless if they want to admit it or not) are rec players... if you first concerns are the safety of your money and good customer support you can't go wrong with Bodog...

Long payouts are the nature of the business today.

Bodog used to pay out thousands of $25 withdraws daily. That was their thing. If they could, I'm sure they'd still do it today.

I've been with Bodog since 2003 and exclusively for the past year. Not a fan of their tennis lines, but baseball & basketball aren't that bad. I usually wait til the last min to bet so I often get better lines than Pinny.

It's also the easiest to fund because they're the only book that accepts my check card.

Although their CS is top notch, they are still slow in paying. It took 30 days to receive my March check.... and now it's been 31 days since I requested my April check. If paying for delivery would get me the check faster, I would gladly do so.

I've also heard that ** cashouts are real fast but I haven't done one myself so maybe someone else can comment on this...

It's questionable how long Bodog will be in business, if it still is.

The warning was the sudden disappearance of Calvin Ayre without explanation. It was more than just the two brothers at OGD doing him in in the media and on the boards, it had to be something more than that, although they certainly did him a lot of harm.

Ayre disappeared virtually overnight. Now nobody knows who owns Bodog, who runs it, and who is responsible if you have a problem.

How many of the top books do you have any idea who runs them? Maybe Ayre is still running it or maybe he was just tired of running it and decided to sell...

You whole post is just wild speculation and if you have a problem playing on a site where you don't know who the owner is then you probably don't have many options...

Personally I think you are just as safe at bodog as any of the other top tier sites...

Ahh, maybe he was just tired. Yeah, that's it. Of course, selling it seems a bit drastic. Maybe he just needed a nap.

I think you've got this arse backwards. The problem with Bodog was playing at a site where you DID know who the owner was.

I'm not sure where this rumor that Bodog was a "top book" or a "top site" got started. Maybe it was the same guy who started the rumor that Ayres was a "world authority on online branding".

You seem to be the only one trying to keep that myth alive.

ahhh... I don't why you're trying to paint me as some kind of tout for bodog all I ever said was that I play there is because their poker games are soft.. I've admitted that they have cashout problems (hell I had a check bounce from them at one point) but I go in knowing that when I take a cashout that is probably going to be slow getting my money back...

On the other hand I'm confident I will eventually get my money back... are you saying that I shouldn't be?

I also mentioned that they have good, fast customer service which also true...

My main point in posting in this thread was to make the point that just because a book is rec book doesn't mean they can't be an A or B book... Hell, I hope the keep this attitude as probably plays a large roll in why the poker games there are so soft...

on there other hand it is pretty clear that you have an agenda, as you been a member here over a year and 8 of your 11 posts have to delt with bodog (or 9 out 12 when you respond here again...)

<< Now nobody knows who owns Bodog, who runs it, and who is responsible if you have a problem. >>

<< The problem with Bodog was playing at a site where you DID know who the owner was. >>

I'm confused can you tell me which is a problem again? do you want to know who owns bodog or do you not want to know? And, I guess according to your second statement, since NOW you don't know who owns bodog (which, for all we know, could still be Ayres) it is perferctly fine for us to play there?

I've been with Bodog for 5 years and IMO it's a top notch book. I certainly had no idea who Calvin Ayre was nor sign up because of him. I mainly signed up because of their generous bonus program.

In this anti-gambling climate, my #1 priority is a book that won't stiff me. Although Bodog has been slow in paying lately, they've never stiffed me.

In fact, I just received a check that I requested on 4/1. Yes, slow, but much better than the alternative.
