    Default Strange Morning

So I went to the Wynn to make a bet and cash a ticket. I owed $440. The clerk said "Okay, I owe you 440" and proceeded to count out bills.

At this point I thought for a second and decided not to take the $880 windfall. I said "Actually, I think I owe you 440." The manager saw this as well. Not as much as a "thank you" from either one.

I stopped at Taco Bell on the way home and they gave me $1 too much change. I kept it. Anyone think I got this backwards?

I'm not fully sure how the casinos work, but if you had kept the $440 and the dumb guy at the computer entered you in as paying off your debt wouldn't you win?

But yes there is minimal to no respect for gambling customers. They know you'll come back.

I would say ... its gonna take you 439 more trips to Taco Bell to get even

If you make another 439 trips to T.B.; their food will get even with you.

The only thing I stood to lose by taking the $880 was my karma for getting a clerk in trouble and possibly some pride if they caught their mistake.

Also, they could have possibly tracked the mistake back to me when the drawer came up short. I'm not sure if something like that can lead to getting backed off if you're on the edge already, but I doubt it.

    Honesty is the best policy.

Would never want a clerk to lose his/her job or be responsible for a shortage at the end of their shift.

    You did the right thing.

After making a bet and cashing a ticket, I owed for the transaction. As in "Here's a candy bar, you owe me 50 cents."

He made a bet and cashed a ticket at the same time. He bet $440 more than the payout of the ticket.

You did the right thing, but sounds like you were hoping the teller would fall to her knees in awe and give ya a bj afterwards or something. I remember playing the horses at the track her in Memphis (West Memphis, Ark.) and they have machines where you can select your picks yourself, so you put in a 100 bucks and make 40 bucks worth of wagers on a race that's about to start and it's very possible to forget to hit the return balance button to print out a ticket for your 60 you have left. Anyway, they have redone the dog track in last couple years but back when I played there in late 90's there would be scumbag poor blacks that would basically just waste their life away sitting at the tables without any money to bet but would wait for someone to forget their ticket and walk up and cashout their balance, it was so bad that if you forgot to print out your ticket by the time the 2 min race was over (even though the place was almost empty and there was no one up at the machines betting) you wouldn't even want to bother checking b/c you know your cash was gone.

    Did it sound like that?

Personally, when I make a mistake and someone helps me at their expense, I let them know that I appreciate it. I rarely offer sexual favors, though, and I don't expect them either.

This reminds me of my strange situation from last week. This one married chick I know was coming on to me. I'm not 100% sure she was, but I'm 95% sure she was. She was telling me how good I look, would I hang out with her at her house, how we should go to this club, that bar, etc etc, hugging me, she even put her head on my shoulder, I'm just saying, she was almost definitely coming on to me. And I didn't go for it, I was like "well I'm pretty busy and also it might be inappropriate" etc etc.

I was a little bit of a pussy about it, but I also thought I did the right thing. But then a few days later, this married dude I know started coming on to me! With him I was like "hey asshole, you're married, and I'm not even gay, and also, you're married!" but for whatever reason, cut to a few hours later - balls across the nose!

Exactly my point, HG. What makes us do the things we do?

I would keep the money, fuk them

If you are strapped for cash you will keep it, if you have cash you will give back

    That goes for everyone here
