So is having a drunken one night fling more acceptable in people's minds than having a babe on the side?

morally no but as far as emotional damage if your significant other finds out I think its less hurtful than long term

I guess that a one night drunken monkey slam fest is better that a long relationship with another person other than the primary life partner. Only because a one nighter can be a moment of weakness or some revenge for some other dis-agreements. A long term relationship with a dude or girl on the side shows a thought out plan for infidelity and in my opinion worse than a one night no-positions barred, body fluids everywhere, movie on YouPorn, end up in the hospital with dehydration, rug burns on your knees, feet, and elbows, sexcapade.

Personally, I may be able to forgive my BF if he had a moment of weakness and had a one night stand (assuming he was honest about it). But having another relationship involves planning, multiple lies, sneaking around, prolonged exposure to STDs (possibly) and emotional cheating. I know it sounds corny, but it hurts worse when your man/woman actually cares for someone else than if they just got horny and screwed up.

Neither are acceptable and both can and will cause irreparable damage should the other person find out.

But...

If I had to pick the lesser of the two evils, I would definitely be more devastated if my significant other were to have an on-going and possible emotional relationship with someone behind my back.

Again, I do not think either are acceptable and if I ever found out that either happened behind my back, it would not be pretty.

Yes. I simple mistake is better then going back because that shows you know what you are doing....or gasp like it........
