Default Hip Hop is not Dead...

A lot of people think Hip Hop is dead.... How the hell could you think that? I will tell you 1 thing I am getting sick of though is Lil Wayne using that damn T-Pain Voice box thing. Weezy is one of my favorites but damn he needs to stop that shit. Eminem is working on new cd, Dre is workin on Detox, Jay Z still brings it, T.I. is sick, Nas, Common, Young Jeezy, The Game, Kanye, Luda. And there is many more but I dont feel like listing them off. Hip Hop isnt dead. Anyone got any new good songs out there to share? Check out this new T.I.

It's not dead, but it's changed.

There will never be another Big L, 2Pac, Biggie, just to name a couple. Hip hop has become utterly commercial, it's radio friendly, club friendly. Whens the last time a rapper made a song that made you go "WOW", not just bop your head like a fool and laugh at a few punchlines, but really raise your eyebrows..?

It's all about who has the biggest chain, car, or bank account now. There's nothing raw or fresh about hip hop anymore, even guys like Eminem lost their hunger lyrically because they made it so big.

I totally agree with that... It sucks, I miss the pissed off Eminem who was just a crazy kid going off on people. I think the last song that made me go "WOW" was the Kanye West performance at the Grammy's when he changed up his "Hey Mama" song and started crying on stage when he was singing bc his mom died

That's the kind of stuff I liked too. I don't care for 50 Cent style songs about bitches, cars, or jewelry. I like creative or meaningful rap. The only rapper I could stand that glamorized being a hustler was Big L, and that's because he was absolutely f*cking sick lyrically. Unfortunately he's dead now.

Big L was the man, no one could mess with his flow. I think that's why I've been feeling Papoose's rhymes for a cpl years now, kid reminds me of Big L, he has the same swagger. Immortal Technique holds it down too.

I love Immortal Tech. Dance w/ the Devil was sick as hell. I like guys like him, Sage Francis, some of Atmospheres shit.. Benefit, basically rappers that most people never heard of, hate mainstream stuff.
