Is it or is it not? Seems to be a lot of negative threads here lately. Im new so Im wondering if Im wasting my time here or if it is a quality place. So far it looks like Im wasting my time. What are the opinions of some quality posters here? Seems to be a lot of people coming and going from this forum.

I don't know if I qualify as a "quality poster," but I wouldn't let the insipid ramblings of a few sour your taste on a board that has some really good people who are knowledgable about gambling and sports.

never has been, just a lot of complainers. look at the forum, see for yourself. look at the threads, i don't see too much ridiculous content here. i see the same kids crying over the same things over and over. more about some women posing as men than anything else. people who get their feelings hurt on forums should not be allowed on forums.

Over the course of 10 years ive seen forums come and go specially since I work in the gambling industry and SBR used to be very good.

Now ... well what can you say if you go into a forum and guys that have over 15,000 under their belts think its BS..

they are as legitimate as it gets in this business. there will always be a conflict of interest just as wall street credit rating companies have. sbr's track record is better than some of them.

as for the forum -- pleasing everyone is impossible. i've participated in many online forums on a variety of topics. Some are way more moderated than this place, some aren't moderated at all. People complain at all of them. I think they do a fine job here.

Just seems like I join here and all Im reading about is credit wagering, other credit shops, JJ and Nicky Santauro blowing each other, complains about messaging and complaints about mods. Im trying to look past all the nonsense. Ive been betting sports for awhile but not with any real results. Just looking to improve and thought this might be the place to help me.

They've been here ever since the forum started and a wave of negative threads appears every so often. Usually the same juveniles throwing their toys out of the pram - and usually because they don't think they get the respect they (don't) deserve.

You think this is bad - you should have been glad you weren't here when they got rid of the rep points system. I think there were quite a number of near-suicides as I recall.

SBR is great for entertainment purposes. Like the Miami Heat was this year for fans not from Miami.

It used to be a great place for sharp wits to gather and sharpen their wits.

Now is like the joke of Forumville. A great place to have a laugh when you come home from work.

i'm giving my honest assessment. this isnt' a game for me, i dont' hang around here just for fun (though right now i'm enjoying a few drinks, a baseball game, and some bs on the internet) i've criticized plenty of sbr's ratings here before and I'm sure I will again. It's a difficult business. You probably have more knowledge about much of it than I do being on the inside. Nevertheless, it's extremely important to my business that I stay up to date on the sportsbook industry. If there's a better site than sbr, please point me to it.

If we are talking about the forum -- then that is another discussion.

You'll usually have to sift through about 27 jjgold threads but there are a few real good sharp cappers on this site.

And to clarify, jjgold is not the cause of many of these lame threads, its just that you'll see his name brought up in many thread titles.

Like all forums, there are good and bad. I'm a new poster and I'm glad I found this site.

IMO, SBR has gone WAY downhill in the last year or so, and I'm referring to the quality of the moderation/mediation, not the quality of the regular posters. I suspect changes were made after the gambling law was passed that were for the worse.

It is a good forum. Take it for what it is ya know? The only thing I do not understand and will never understand is that some people have multiple names. Waste of time and energy and people have nothing else better to do. I have one name and that is all I need.

U seem to know a good bit about this place for only being here for 2 days. I assume you lurked and read some threads before joining? I lurked for a few weeks myself.

Hang around and judge for yourself, but it is definitely a good place. The forums are better than most, and especially good if you follow the sports forums.(especially during football).

I was alot more active during football and college hoops, but it is good to hang around and talk to the good guys and gals here.

Hang around for a few months and you will be able to tell who the good ones are.

Also, if you have a problem with a sportsbook, these guys are hands down, the best in the business. They are "players first" guys. They will look out for your best interest as long as you dont take shots at the books and don't stiff anyone.
