let's say you want to win 10 dollars. you can either take new orleans to win the series at -1700 or bet to win 10 dollars ml tonight at -300. if dallas win, you keep taking ml until game 7.

i think -1700 is the better odds because dallas will be the underdog for game 5,6,7. but your money will be locked up for couple of days if they don't win tonight.
